Esp. if I'm fairly keen to not have my sig happen? Not that much against Hillary, but I wouldn't mind someone other than a Bush or a Clinton this time around.

But I have no candidate. I don't believe ABC is an effective stance, just as ABB wasn't really. Being for someone is better than being against someone.

Just wondering how fast I should get my butt in gear.

Sadly, I have no enthusiasm for the task. The guys I'd like to vote for ain't running.

2. My candidate has NEVER won. NEVER.
so I'm seriously thinking about not declaring one this year. I think I will vote in the repub primary to try and screw them up. I might vote Paul or something...

3. Especially if you don't know, you've got the time to try to see if you align in any
way with another candidate. They all have something to offer so hopefully there's one you'll be drawn toward.

I became enthused when I realized that the country is in dire straits- then I started paying attention because I feel we're at the tipping point (to use that already over-used term).

And I can say for myself, that once you become convinced that a specific candidate is the right one to help us pull out of the abyss, the enthusiasm and passion will come. From my observations on DU, I think it's accurate to say the other supporters - regardless of their candidate - feel the same.

Good luck if you decide you want to pursue this. If not, it's a pretty good assumption that any of the Dems who get the nomination will be worth your vote.

4. Not at all ...

The only important thing is that you show up and vote. You don't need to know for certain for whom you will cast your ballot until you make your mark.

I get bored with this "politics as sporting event" thing that goes on, especially around here lately. According to the way some people operate, you're either a "fan" or you're not, and if you're a fan, you love, love, love your candidate with all your heart and take it personally when they are slighted. Likewise, you hate, hate, hate your rival "team" and can't say anything good about them.

It's boring. I'd rather watch golf.

Anyway, I'll probably make a choice in the next month or so and start sporting a bumper sticker, but I'm always open to changing my mind right up to the day of the primary. Did it last time around twice.

5. Bravo - I really like all of our candidates and its a good problem to have
I'm not going to settle for one just yet - although I have ruled out a couple, but there's still time for them to change my mind. We've got plenty of time and we have a full field of candidates, each very capable of making our country proud.

6. Agreed ...

I've ruled out three for one reason or another. Never has been -- EVER -- a single candidate for any office anywhere with whom I agreed 100% of the time, and many of the best that ended up in office I disagreed with about half the time. And there have been some I disliked quite a lot during their campaign and ended up liking, or at least respecting, when they were in office. The reverse has also been true. OK's current governor is someone I barely tolerated prior to his first election. I don't love him, but he's been a good governor. David Walters, on the other hand, was someone I adored as a candidate, and he turned out to be a total disaster.

Regardless, even if one of those I'm not currently considering were to end up with the nomination, I wouldn't throw myself off a cliff or anything.
