Am I in any trouble?
Last night, in a drunken stupor, I wrote a very short email to Hannity about his smearing of Senator Obama. It was about three sentences long, and I dropped the "F-bomb" twice. To make matters (possibly) worse, I wrote from a place where I am house-sitting. I used my husband's work email address, as my husband and I don't use email at home ( we live WAY out in the country and only have dial-up).
I'm sure these morans must get thousands of angry email a week, at least. I just woke up this morning feeling a little paranoid - not to mention hung over. Can anyone help ease my frazzled nerves?:hangover:

1. If YOU could get in trouble, then the jails would be full of right-wing "morans"
Ever seen the hate mail bag here? Ever heard Al Frankin read his when he had the radio show ("k--e"was a favorite word in that case.)

7. I have seen the hate letters to DU.
They are beyond disgusting, and I actually though about those this morning to assuage my paranoia. But then, we progressives tend to be a forgiving lot. Thanks for the input!:)

Yours is one among thousands, I'm sure! :P

Fear not! Just have some :donut: and relax. It's a beautiful autumn day today! ;)

I have no idea if you're in trouble or not, I guess it depends on where your husband works.

19. Yep. Doin it from someone's work account could get THEM in trouble
Don't send nasty-grams from someone's work email- EVER. Doin it drunk... I would guess she is in trouble with her husband.

Anybody who would do that involving MY work email would be facing the wrath of the mother of all havoc.

There are LOTS of quick, easy places to get a free email account. Takes no time at all. Isn't difficult. No excuse to use a work account to blow off steam while drinking.

6. Set up a free email account on yahoo or hotmail for those things
I doubt you are in trouble, but it is definitely not cool to use hubby's work email account for those kind of letters.

13. I know, you're right. I'll never do it again, obviously!
I told hubby this morning. He wasn't overly pleased, but didn't seem to upset. I told him to blame it on me if any trouble comes his way. He works for a museum organization, and they are pretty liberal for the most part, so here's hoping...

8. When you say you used your husbands email
Do you mean you just included it as the return address or that you actually used his company computer and emailed it from his office? If so then they may be able to contact his boss and demand that action be taken (whether it is or not is another matter).

But from a legal standpoint they have nothing on you. And it is unlikely that any action will be taken on your husband.

As long as you didn't use his office equipment then they have no claim over him.

12. Let's hope you didn't say anything that could be construed as a threat.
If you didn't do that then there should be nothing to worry about except for using your husbands work e-mail account. I have read here that freepers sometimes launch an assault on the employer when they find e-mails coming from a work site..

24. The only real way you might be "in trouble"...
...is if the homeowners have a problem with you
being drunk while house-sitting.

Hannity gets a hundred worse eMails a day.

-EVERY- day.

How dare you exercise your right to speak?

I've dropped the F-bomb in an ad hominem way while stone-cold sober in an email to [email protected]

Fuck being afraid.

"it is very likely somebody from the presidential clan will kill me... Every morning when I wake up, I think there are three beds I could end up in tonight. Back here at home, the hospital, or the morgue." But he says: "I will not be afraid. It is when you are afraid that you lose."

You have a quite a set of nads! What can I say...America has become a scary place. A place where a person can be taken away and never heard from again. Kudos to you for not giving in to that fear!
By the way, welcome to DU!:hi:
