Isn't today DOOMSDAY?
Isn't today the day all those options expire? Isn't it the last day for there to be the cataclysmic false flag operation that many around here were predicting a week or so ago?

Where are you, all you CTers? Still sticking with this, or have you moved on to the Pravda story: Meteor in Peru was really nuke on its way to Iran?

1. Link?
I try not to follow these things, but I would like to know whether or not I should be taking the amount of canned peas I have in the cupboard more seriously than usual.

Because if it's truly, truly serious, I can, you know, upgrade to pears or something.

people embrace the flimsiest conspiracy theories? What about those same people never researching the "facts" they use to illustrate those CTs?

Of course it's good nothing happened, but that's not the point of the thread.

9. I could argue ...
much like DHS, (which does what, really? something new?), Dept. o’ Justice and the host of many various agencies and powers, which claim or even just hint-at thwarted or suspected terrorist attacks, while sometimes executing the oh-so needed (never politically timed mind ya) code yellows, putting swat teams in Grand Central and so on, that a little sunshine from the more paranoid amongst US is not such a bad counterbalance.

But instead will save it--it's coffee and work time! Cheers. Well maybe a nap first....

10. I'm here
Yep indeed my guess on the 14.09.2007 was wrong. Nothing i'm very unhappy about ;)

Hope the best, expect the worst...

A well there are other days on my doomsday bingo card but not in this month. Keeping the eyes open though, there ain't much i'd put past the current government. They certainly don't feel limited by stuff like ethics or conscience..

11. Thanks for showing up!
And although I agree with you that they'd do almost anything if they thought they could get away with it, some stuff strains credulity at first glance. In addition, what's with NOT checking our purported facts?

27. They allready got away with a lot
So i personally think "getting away" is not really a consideration, they'll look to that so they will. There's also a little difference between CT's trying to analyze past events and trying to forecast future events, not knowing what moves behind the curtain. I was wrong and i don't think that forecast prevented such a thing, it was just not the time..yet.

Airforce Standdown, a number of parallel military excersises, the impeach-rally (perhaps even some "leading anti-bushist who put their feet where their mouth is")

Admitted if there's a nuke missing or not - i can't say - i wouldn't put it past them.

The benefit for power would have been to have a reason to declare martial law and losing a couple of vocal and active opponents.

Blackwater is training policing a devastated city (new orleans). Surveillance and policing powers by various agencies have been augmented enough to ensure control over a loyal minority and a anemic majority. On the other hand it's not even necessary as long bushco can use the hill to lead the public in circles while they continue their agenda.

12. I hope not!
It's a Friday, for God's sake!

Let us, at least, have a weekend to think about it.

If there is any justice in Life, Doomsday will happen on a Monday!

21. Alright, alright That was just funny.
:yourock:

Alright, alright That was just funny because...

It has gotten kind of weird around here the past month, hasn't it? Lot's of people raising their fist in righteous rage, declaring war on the flavor-of-the-minute enemy, proclaiming that those who don't agree with them are authoritarians and fascists. Black helicopters just over every horizon, black sedans around every corner, the birth of The American Neo-Police State (booga-booga!!)

Until recently, one could be somewhat reassured that in more cases than not, a discussion on DU would contain in-depth analysis, enlightening editorial and a summation of daily/weekly events. This week it's been like walking into a frat party five hours after the drinking began with bizarre Freudian scenarios going on-- "My conspiracy is bigger than yours-- get out the ruler and let's measure?"

And the calls to arms-- "The senate has declared WAR on the American people!!!! What will you do to save your country?!!!" To Arms! To Arms! Fire! Flood! Famine! Food-Fight!

I like good old fashioned melodrama as much as the next guy, but I prefer it in black and white on the small screen. I think I've let it get to me and I may end up doing the unthinkable-- using the ignore feature for the first time to more easily cut through the sophomoric cries of angst and drama ("... and let loose the dogs of war!") and focus on the reality based posts.

(Ha! Never let me post prior to my first cup of coffee....)

22. Under the circumstances...
The paranoia is justifiable. Not that the next false flag necessarily will be indicative of "doomsday" in the religious sense of apocalypse. Given that a police state infrastructure now in place, it seems a tad bizarre to thumb noses and take pleasure in mocking those who are understandably quite concerned over where things are heading.

DU - panic, provocateurs, posers, prophets?

Crazy times, there are many bugs in the system right now.
