Glen Beck is pushing this meme about terrorists attacking schools
Seems some folks are taking this seriously.

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/rawfisher/2007/09/saving_the_elementary_schools.html

Choate said he and his friend felt compelled to come to Washington because most Americans refused to believe that "the terrorists have got people planted all over the country from Al Queda who are preparing to go on one day into many elementary schools in our country and kill our children. We have this on good authority, we have sources."

Choate said he was disappointed to see how few people turned out to the Gathering of Eagles. "Most of the country doesn't want to believe it, " he said. "Everybody's getting a false feeling of security. Every morning, I wake up and just hope another 9-11 hasn't happened overnight."

Choate said he and his friends, who he called true patriots, are doing their duty to spread the word that "most Muslims are out to kill us or convert us to Islam

4. My husband mentioned this to me today...
...and told me that Beck is insisting that Osammy is going to bomb our elementary
schools.

Supposedly, Beck said that Osammy said that he did this before and he'll do it
again 100 times over in America. My husband agreed that Osammy didn't have anything
to do with that horrendous terror attack in that elementary school.

So, what is Beck talking about? On what is he basing his outrage and hysteria?

Is it on record that Osammy said something about this?

We have two young children in elementary school. If Beck is serious about this, he
damn well better have sources to back up his fearmongering. Really. Enough is
enough. I'd like to hear the whole story on this.

5. Ok...I watched Beck's report...
...or the first three parts of it.

I have to say---I'm really bothered by this. I'm wondering what IS true. I'm wondering
what is not.

Beck and two of his guests discussed Al Qaida's plans to bomb multiple schools in the United States
in a terror plot that Al Qaida has coined, "The Perfect Day". Apparently, they want to kill as
many Americans as possible, on one day, in simultaneous attacks--with multiple school attacks being
the centerpiece of the plot.

Beck and his guests claim that there are several puzzle pieces that demonstrate that this plan may be
real and that Al Qaida is planning this attack.

-There are 17 school busses missing in Texas. Apparently, they were stolen from a private school.

-Two Saudi men were arrested after boarding a school bus.

-In Iraq, architectural plans and emergency procedures of American schools in several states--were found
on computers belonging to Al Qaida.

-Apparently, Osama has stated, "What we did in Beslan, we will do 100 times over in America". Becks' guests--the author
of a book on the Beslan school attack; and someone formerly with Homeland Security--suggest that Beslan was a "trial run".

Beck and his guests insist that the FBI takes this threat very seriously and they have apparently spoken with many
school districts. However, they don't want to incite widespread panic, so they are downplaying the story to the
public. One of the guests insisted that the FBI believes "it is not a question of if, but when this happens..."

Ok....this is terrifying to anyone with children.

It's scary, of course. However, I would like to comb through all of this information and ascertain what exactly is going
on.

Oddly---my first grader told me last week that they had three drills at school: Tornado, fire and "intruder". I asked her
what kind of drill that was about and she said, "In case a bad person gets in our school, we go on lock down and our
classroom doors are locked and the lights turned off so the bad person can't get in".

I'd never heard of a drill like that. Are our schools preparing for something like this?

It's important to do your due diligence on stuff like this. Beck does tend to be an alarmist. He
has always thrived off of the "We're all gonna die!!!!" schtick. He doesn't have much credibility with me.
However, this situation involves our children and the majority of parents will react to this and want answers.

Really compelling stuff...that begs further attention.
