What Obama DIDN'T say at his speech today
"Thank you very much everybody, LET'S GET TO WORK!"

THAT is how Barak ENDED his announcement speech today.

Big deal right?

It is to me.

WHY?

Every speech for the last 6 years has been ended by 'our' pResident with the following:

".... and may God Bless 'Murica!"

Maybe not to you, but it's a big deal to me. Somehow I'm feeling rather "included" right now.

Obama in '08!

1. Uh
Obama is not the president, and I'm sure many candidates have not ended their speeches with a meaningless and perfunctory "God Bless America."

2. Matcom, I was contacted by two of my daughters this morning...
one in California and one here in Alaska, inquiring whether I had seen Obama's speech this morning or his appearance on TV last night. I hadn't, but they were both completely impressed by him, even the one who before GWB had identified herself as a Republican. He must be doing something right.

6. Obama is impressive. And it is refreshing to not have someone elses
religion shoved in my face if I do them the courtesy of giving them my time to listen to them speak.

Time will tell if he can go the distance. But I suppose if an idiot like the current white house appointee can do it, just about anyone can.
