Dem Congressional hopeful BARNSTORMS CA 04 to make it official!!
Congressional hopefully Charlie Brown (D) kicked off his "official" congressional campaign by flying a small plane to three Northern California airports today, to announce his candidacy. After leaving constituents in Cameron Park, El Dorado County, Brown flew up to Placer County where he was met by nearly two hundred supporters and local media at the Auburn Airport. The crowd was treated to Brown's dramatic arrival as he taxied the plane within 100 yards of the crowd, assembled at the hanger.

To the delight of Brown supporters, the entire Brown family disembarked, including his son who has recently returned safely from his fourth tour of duty in Iraq. Following a moving speech by Jan Brown, who introduced her husband to the crowd, Charlie emphasized the current needs of veterans and those serving the military and vowed to do better. Near the close of a moving speech, Brown gave a surprise announcement when he told the crowd that he wants results now and did not want to wait until he moves to Washington, D.C. to begin his term in Congress.

Brown announced he will be donating 5% of all of his campaign contributions towards the health care needs of returning veterans, with funds going to military and VA medical centers.

Brown challenged any other candidate to do the same.

As you can imagine, the crowd went wild!

Brown WILL win this District!!!

3. You're a good man, Charlie Brown
"You're a good man, Charlie Brown
You're the kind of reminder we need
You have humility, nobility and a sense of honor that is very
Rare indeed.

Woof!

You're a good man, CHarlie Brown
And we know you will go very far

Yes it's hard to believe
Almost frightening to conceive
What a good man you are.

You are kind.

You are kind to all the animals
And every little bird
With a heart of gold
You believe what you're told...

Every single solitary word

You bravely face adversity
You're cheerful through the day
You're thoughtful
Brave and couteous

And you also have some faults
But for the moment let's just say

That you're a good man, Charlie Brown
You're a prince
And a prince could be king
With a heart such as yours
You could open any doors
You could go out and do anything
You could be King Charlie Brown
You could be king!"

4. dumping Do-Little decisively

Thanks for this! I wanted to get to Cameron Park event, but wasn't able to.

Love the bit about 5% of his campaign contributions going to military and VA medical centers! :patriot:

Did you go to one of these? If so, then how big was the turnout?

5. I went to the Auburn Airport one
Last night the person who organized it (for Auburn) had about 160 RSVP's which didn't count the members of our democratic club who may or may not have RSVP'd. I think probably over 200 people were there. The Brown person told me they had an even a larger turnout in Grass Valley which was his stop after Auburn. I just saw a clip from KXTV who covered it and it looked big. They ran it proceeding the Doolittle clip where he calls his critcs "weasels". Good placement. It was a nice event, Charlie is becomming a very good speaker.:hi:
