1. He isn't a soldier...
He is a "soldier-for-hire" a mercenary. He got paid good money for that. He can now live with his choices.

I know who he is. I assisted in his interrogation at a detention facility in Fallujah. I was one of two civilian interrogators assigned to the division interrogation facility (DIF) of the 82nd Airborne Division.

4. True..he isn't a soldier.
My mistake. But I really don't think it lessens the pain.

11. I understand you...
I am not trying to offend you with my post, really. So I apologize if you took it that way.

I agree with you, this article will not lessen his pain. But he did it to himself.

I know this individual is not asking for forgiveness, he is just telling us what he did in Iraq. The problem with this is that to me he is just trying to "vent" for his own selfish motives, for his OWN peace of mind. Maybe he is looking for a book deal. I really don't know why he wrote this but I wasn't moved by his article (Can you tell?).

Why not go and testify on who ordered this instead of crying the "I was following orders" BS? He is a civilian and he has a choice not to obey. He just loses his job and go back home. With a soldier is different, not only they don't get the financial benefits of a contractor but they ARE to follow orders or else they are put on COURT MARTIAL (Like with LT Watada) and charged with treason. Knowing a little about the military, a soldiers who disobey such orders could spend the rest of his life in prison while the pentagon come up with delays and excuses cause they can't come up with any charges.

THIS MEANS he had choices and he has to live with that. I don't feel his pain. He might be driving around town with a nice sport car with his blood money. He can, in a few years, come up with a book deal and earn millions.

Instead of writing this he needs to be under oath talking to Congress about this. I only hope he gets subpoena because if this article.

3. Jeez...that is so sad.
I wish there was some way to ease the pain and guilt he is feeling. What he did was wrong, but there is no way he can take it back.
God Damn these rotten squatters in our White House. They have hurt so many.

9. Even bad guys hurt.
That's what makes it so painful--if you've ever had a tortured conscience about something, you know that there's nothing you can do about it; you can't undo what you've done, and you do deserve the pain you have. That's why I call it "the worst pain".

12. There are ways to heal the pain
of such barbaric acts. He can help enact laws to protect prisoners from abuse. As an "interrogator" he can help in the writing of procedures on more humane ways to get information from others. That can only make a stronger nation, he can bring back the notions that our country is a "nation of fair laws". That could help with his healing. Words are nothing without actions.

13. At least this guy has a conscience.
And I can respect him for that.

I'm sick of dealing with the ones that don't have consciences - Bush, Cheney, Gonzales. Those sons of bitches sleep very well at night.

8. And atheists claim there is no hell.
Hell can easily be created right here and now, as this person has done. Now he has to live in the hell of his own creation until he finds a way out.
