I haven't watched that thing in years. It used to be a staple back before cable.

My favorite one was when Charo did her hootchie cootchie routine, and hootchie coochied right out of her "tube top." She didn't even realize it initially, but when she finally "got the word" she found it hilarious, and the "hamanahamanahamanas" and eye-rolling, face slapping and hand wringing by Lewis and some of the subsequent performers were like an old slapstick routine.

that I see a pattern here of rushing to condemn, but so slow to forgive. An eighty year old man who had been awake for eighteen hours. Pathetic in my opinion. Sad also that one ill-spoken word, in some people's minds, completely wipes out what he has accomplished. Don't bother apologizing Jerry. Once you've been labeled scum here, well, there's no going back. Thanks for the memories.

Actions, in this case, speak louder than words... Lewis has his faults, but he's done a ton of good over time. I know of nothing in his long history to suggest he is bigoted, this very unfortunate slur have slipped out, aside. Quite the contrary.
