27. I think he'd tie the election together, too.

How you gonna keep 'em down on the farm once they've seen Karl Hungus?

35. Was it any different from what he's said every time before? Got a link?
Edited on Sat Feb-10-07 01:38 AM by impeachdubya
To my knowledge, he hasn't ruled it out. In fact, according to the Boston Globe, a few weeks ago his people were, quote, "putting out feelers".

http://www.boston.com/news/globe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2007/01/16/another_chance_for_gore/

In my experience, the folks who seem to have a problem with Gore's inclusion in these polls are the folks who resent the fact that he trounces their favorite candidate by a mile.

Take a look at the top of this thread, again- the numbers don't lie.

19. Not in the Democratic Party anymore.
He disqualified himself when he refused to accept the results of his primary. Whatever you want to call him, he's not a Democrat.

11. Someone else could run a poll for the Freepers like this -
Giuliani, McCain, Romney - or Reagan. They'd all pick Reagan, and it would mean as much to reality as this poll. Reagan's not running this time, and I'm coming to feel that Gore isn't either. If he's in fighting trim when he gets the academy award, he might declare and run soon after that. But the chatter I see here at DU about him "wisely" waiting to declare in July or August or something is silly. He runs now (or close to now) or he's not gonna do it. He knows that too I'd bet.

18. No, cuz not only is Reagan dead, he's also disqualified from being President again.
Edited on Fri Feb-09-07 11:47 PM by impeachdubya
(As if merely being dead wasn't disqualification enough)

...But I agree; Gore can't wait forever to make the call. We'll know one way or another soon.

23. I knew someone would do this.
You don't get to pick the running mate.

Why is the VP slot seen as such a consolation prize among Democrats?

You don't vote for that slot, so why do you think it matters?

34. Lieberman!
That choice was enough to make me question Gore's decisions from then on. I respect him for his work on the environment, but he would have to prove himself to me for me to support him again in a campaign. Nothing against him other than his vp choice and his decision to distant himself from Clinton in 2000.

Flame away, but this is my honest opinion.

38. Wish one would mention the only true liberal running, so others would look at his platform...
Edited on Sat Feb-10-07 03:08 AM by GreenTea
and examine his ideology for themselves...most don't even know he exist...and he will always be ignore by the media for the more glamorous money candidates...just the way the republicans want and taught us to do....watch the Brittany Spears, Paris Hilton, J. Simpson candidates ONLY...forget about progressive "losers" like Dennis Kucinich.

John Kerry, mission accomplished, well, the republicans said he was OK....So Dems go with the flow...the media said Kerry sure, but our man Bush will easily steal it against him...However, don't think for yourself and certainly don't listen to what Kucinch is offering.

Same old shit...Republican, DLC shit we are being fed and eating up daily.

40. This Isn't An Election Where We Can Take Any Chances
Sorry, but Kucinich is Not a sure thing.

Honestly, I think Al Gore is perhaps the only "sure thing," although by next year, maybe there isn't a Democratic candidate alive that could lose in a General Election.

But right now, unfortunate as it may be, Dennis Kucinich is not a chance we could take, because he's just not well known enough, and he's never going to beat candidates like Clinton, Obama or Edwards.

But I'm sure his supporters will try to change that, and it's a free country, so I imagine you'll get more people to know about him.
