2. So the body politic does not need a formal education with regard to candidates?
Shouldn't people read more or something who are age 18-29?

3. I'm out of that demographic and I get info from late-night comedy shows...but also from other
sources.

Did whatever you read/heard say "exclusively?" If not, that just means about half of young voters watch (and pay attention to) late-night comedy shows.

7. I will get you the link. Dan Rather said it. No it didn't say "exclusively."

10. link here
47 percent of those between 18 and 29 get information about presidential campaigns from late-night comedy shows, and there is, I think, a new bit of research out today by MTV, and Nickelodeon, and CBS News, pretty much the same thing and echoing that.

6. This is simply because the corporate news media doesn't really report news anymore
They report on anything that generates advertising revenue, but often times there is a conflict between informing the citizenry with serious issues and pursuing greater profits for the shareholders. I don't know. That's my best guess. People are programmed since childhood in this country to not take interest, to be detached, to be a cog in a machine. They are programmed to be passive consumers instead of active citizens.

9. Damn it makes me mad. Here I am, kid in a public school, honors
classes and I am vigilant about homework every night. Wondering if I'm contributing to his being a cog in a wheel. AcK! :puke:
