2. Right. She's had her 15 minutes
Leave her alone, maybe she'll start to learn about the real world.

13. Seriously. In fact, I think she was trying to say something interesting.
I appreciated her mention of "US Americans."

I think that the people making fun of her have it wrong, frankly. And there's something really nasty and icky about picking on a teenage girl. Kind of reminds me of Rush Limbaugh picking on Chelsea Clinton.

Aren't there enough Republican hypocrites to make fun of - do we have to go after teenage girls?

3. Everybody is beating up on her WAY too much
She flubbed up a question. She lost the pageant. Hasn't she been punished enough?

How many of you have become tongue tied--at that age too--when speaking in public?

7. I HATED public speaking. Still do.
And I'm surprised by the obsessive/compulsive attitude around here about this girl today.

5. She should be criticized for her ignorance, but ad hominem attacks are simply tasteless
She is getting enough grief as it is without it getting personal.

8. They should have asked her about horses or shopping...
Edited on Tue Aug-28-07 10:08 AM by DontTreadOnMe
Yeah... leave her alone.
That was a hard question. The other girls got easy questions.

"How would you save the planet?"

or

"What is your favorite color horse?"

or

"What stores have great shoe prices?"

We can't expect our children in America to learn geography until at least College.
C'mon people!
Look how beautiful she is!
She's gonna marry a rich guy.
She can have a servant read the map for her.

I'm proud to be an American. But I can't point it out on a map.

10. well I doubt she's ever been in the spotlight for her intellect..
it was pretty obvious she was nervous. I just can't get over the fact that people are so up in arms that a beauty contestant "wasn't smart" .

9. This girl is going to be famous
She has it made!

She's going to end up on TV. Then she'll write the book. Or have it ghost written.

Hollywood is probably contacting her already for a reality show!

Stop all the pity for her! This will end up the smartest thing she's ever done!

15. LOL..scary but true..Hey look at Jennatalia Bush..she's
writing kids books now. With help.

Too bad this girl was all dressed up perfect for the crown & photo op.
She represents all that is wrong with beauty pagents, and all that is wrong with Bush's 'No Child Left Behind'.
Smarter than a fifth grader? well, probably not with an answer like this.
But gosh she sure is pretty..nice dress too.

She'll show up on a reality TV show somewhere..you are right about that.

16. Bingo. She's a poster child
for what passes as education in neo-con "US America". Such as.

But maybe she's a math whiz.
