Anti-Olbermann nutjobs freaking out on NBC Sports message board
Edited on Mon Aug-27-07 07:23 PM by BerryBush
Take a look. One night Keith is on a preseason football game, the only thing he expresses an opinion about during the game coverage is Michael Vick, and already the 101st Fighting Keyboard Brigade is after him, claiming they will never watch football on NBC again for as long as he's in the studio.

(Edited to add link: Comments start on http://boards.nbcuni.com/nbcs/index.php?showtopic=314)

Some choice quotes:

*****
I have not watched any NBC of any kind for years because of the left wing loons they have had a hosts and guests on their networks...I will never watch again as long as he is one of the hosts...Keep promoting your left wing agenda NBC and you will loose even more viewership than you already have!!!!

*****
Olberman in and I'm out . . .I want to watch and hear football, not listen to someone that will consider this another liberal platform from which he will unleash his bias against those he doesn't like...

*****
I can hear it now, every fumble is "Bush's fault", every bad pass is part of a vast right wing conspiracy, and every bad coach needs to be "impeached". ...I want to watch football for football, and not to have to put up with idiots like Olberman spewing their own political leanings. Oh, he'll behave for a while, but he'll eventually give in to his mental imbalance and have a meltdown.

*****
KO is a professed left wing flame thrower. He hates everything about our country and it's elected leadership. The second he starts with his left wing conspiracy theories, NBC will lose the few real football fans they actually have.

*****
...HE HAS MADE NUMEROUS NAZI SEIG HEIL SALUTES PUTTING UP A FACE OF BILL O'REILLY WHEN HE DOES IT ,GETTING SEVERE CRITICISM FROM THE ANTI DEFAMATION LEAGUE,, :-( AND HE HAS REFUSED TO APOLOGIZE FOR THIS ACTION. HE HAS BEEN GOING TO BED WITH HOOKERS AND HAVE HAD RELATIONSHIPS WITH **** STARS, TO WHERE HE HAS NOT APOLOGIZED. NBC COULD HAVE SELECTED A MORE DIGNIFIED AND OBVIOUSLY LESS POLORIZING INDIVIDUAL...

*****
...How could you think that hiring a guy like Keith Olbermann to do football was a good idea!?! Maybe Al Franken, Al Gore, and Bill Mahr can do play-by-play for you!...Hiring this crazed, ultraliberal lunatic for what was shaping up to be a fairly good football show was a giant mistake...

*****
...Why not just add Michael Moore and Al Franken and make it the "NBC pre-game liberal rant"?

*****
...Why do TV networks insist on forcing their subjective moral relevists down our throats every chance they get?...What's next? In the booth we have Jessie Jackson, Al Franken, and Hilary Clinton?

*****
I love football but I hate Olberdouche more...

*****
...Alienating 50% of the nation is not good business. I would think this would be obvious; so it just means that the agenda is set and they don't care...

*****
...Bring in Rosie, they could share their favorite stories, "How much do I hate America"?...

*****
...he was a bad sports anchor who felt the need to prove his intellect and education with abstruse vocabulary, run-on sentences and an arrogant demeanor. Now he's parlayed those wonderful traits into a career as a professional political whiner.

*****
Whether Keith Olbermann discusses his political views or not is irrelevant. He has become a symbol for radical left-wingers...

*****
...Why hire a guy that routinely suggests that the 9/11 was a government conspiracy. His utter disdain for this country and our military is disgusting...

*****
The last time I checked football was a classic American sport. Not a left-wing joke like Obermann. What a windbag. And he was busted on his silly socialist tirades by Chris Collinworth just prior to the game. Keep it up. Because a bunch of right-coasters confused over global warming as the source of Katrina decided to given said windbag a big contract that needs to be amortized by more activities does not we want his stinking left-wing stench anywhere near America's Game.

By the way.

CNBC. most lucrative demographic in America. 90% Republican.
MSNBC. nobody watches it except twits from "The Nation" magazine and DailyKos.
NBC. at risk of becoming a giant JOKE with its credibility for sale to idiots.

I have an idea. Put Obermann on CNBC. That way you can guarantee the Fox Business Channel takes ALL YOUR BUSINESS NEWS.

*****
Please get rid of Keith Olberman. He only full of Psycho Babble about nothing. This is football. I think someone should have told him that. This is not the gay theater.

*****
Keith O. is a liberal A$$-HAT!! I can't believe NBC is stupid enough to put him on the air. He is a disgrace to our military and to our country!

*****
I finally figured it out. Some intellectual giant right now sitting at his summer house in Westhampton thought Obermann would be "edgy", and since they signed said "comrade" to an expensive contract, the noise will be good for ratings.

One final idea. Send Obermann over to Madden's trailer. Have him spout off against Bush and defending America. Madden's meaty fist will crush his jaw, then his co-host will use his 5-iron, or maybe his fairway 3 wood to drive his teeth 250 yards.

*****
Olbermann and his trademark anaphylactic broadcasting style have no business being on ANY sports program. I have no doubt he strode from the set last night thinking "****, I am soooo wonderful!" Self-righteous slagbag.

*****
I have to believe that even those who buy in to Olberman's extreme views find him very unlikeable. The only thing that makes sense is that this was a political decision. MSNBC has been taken over the cliff with its left wing bias and the parent company is rushing head long down the same path. It's a shame NBC has decided to politicize its SNF coverage. Olberman doesn't even have to spout out his politics and hatred for conservatives. His mere presence is enough to alienate most fans...

*****
...I will not support left wing, biased blowhards like Olbermann. It's both the politics and the lack of talent. He really wasn't *that* good on ESPN back in the day, but he was part of the early team that caught our collective attention. Now, he's just a windbag reading left wing nutter "talking points."...

*****
Keith Olbermann is an idiot. Perhaps he would like to be electrocuted with a cattle prod, for not performing well. IF that were the case he would be electrocuted each day...

*****
...He turned from an entertaining sportscenter host to a paranoid, angry leftard...

*****
...NBC, quit trying to force your left wing agenda on football fans...

*****
Who was the idiot that thought football fans would like this liberal flake? There is a reason nobody watches him on PMSNBC... because nobody wants to watch him. Not to mention he's a pompus blow-hard. And I hate to break it to you lefties, but football and liberals go together like cold beer and tofu.

*****
I can't wait until you have Pres. Cezar Chavez from Argentina on the show to provide his opinions of the Bush Administration. Then after him, how about Fidel Castro and that jerk from North Korea?

*****
...The Olbersturmfuehrer is a fascist and he is not ashamed of it.

*****
Olberman and his tin foil hat crap doesn't belong on a football telecast...What's next Jane Fonda as a sideline reporter?

*****
...Olbermann safely sequestered in his own show on MSNBC where we can choose to watch or not watch - that's fine. But I just don't see how launching into his Bush Derangement Syndrome nutroots spiel makes any sense on a sports broadcast...Getting blasted in the face by the politicalized crap that OIbermann was spewing led to clicking off the TV...

*****
...Olbermann's sportscasting (which I enjoyed on ESPN back in the day) isnt the issue, it's his symbolic representation of the hardcore left. Not to mention that he did Bush-bashing on this show instead of sports-- but even if he stuck to sports it would have the same effect.

I am not overly political, but the borderline insanity displayed by the left these days is repulsive. Think about your target audience, here, NBC... if it's men over 25 you're making a lot of them angry with this lefty nutcase on screen.

I still don't buy any sauce or jar of anything that says Heinz on it. I'm sure I'm not the only one. Buying decisions are the ordinary joe's way of striking back. You don't want that happening to your sponsors...

*****
...I will also be writing you a letter signed by at least 10 people at my office that thought your stiff newscaster was a blemish on the telecast...

*****
Olbermann is nothing more than a Democrat political hack. Olbermann is a psychopath. If you really want to know what this pompus douchebag is up to on a daily basis just go to Olbermann watch dot com. They keep an eye on this lunitic.

6. Interesting...

HE HAS BEEN GOING TO BED WITH HOOKERS AND HAVE HAD RELATIONSHIPS WITH **** STARS, TO WHERE HE HAS NOT APOLOGIZED. NBC COULD HAVE SELECTED A MORE DIGNIFIED AND OBVIOUSLY LESS POLORIZING INDIVIDUAL...

Here's the SEVERE criticism:

We are deeply dismayed by your ongoing use of the Nazi "Sieg Heil" salute, both on your program and in public appearances -- including the recent Television Critics Association press tour -- while holding up a mask of Fox News commentator Bill O'Reilly.

While we understand that your aim is to entertain your audience by taking pot shots at Mr. O'Reilly, your repeated use of the Nazi salute has resulted in many complaints from our constituents, including Holocaust survivors and their families who find the use of this gesture offensive and repugnant in any context.

The Nazi salute is more than just a remnant of history, but serves as a calling card for modern-day neo-Nazis and white supremacists. We believe that the use of gestures and imagery associated with the Nazis ?even in jest ?only serves to trivialize the Holocaust and denigrate the memory of the six million Jews and others who died as a result of Hitler's Final Solution.

As a respected and well-known media personality, your actions have consequences and can set a standard for others to emulate. We are especially concerned that young people viewing your program might take their cues from your free use of the "Sieg Heil" salute.

In light of these concerns, we hope that you will reconsider your use of the Nazi salute in the future.

14. And they never mention (conveniently) that he gave the salute to make a point.
Billo had just stated recently that US soldiers during WWII slaughtered Nazis at Malmedy, when the truth was the other way around--Nazis massacred US soldiers. He was DEFENDING THE NAZIS.

And thought he was totally appropriate. Olbermann was a first class sportscaster long before he was a first class journalist. He's forgotten more about football than these jackasses ever knew.

These are right-wing nuts who listen to the likes of Mike Gallagher, Laura Ingraham, Michael Savage, Sean Hannity, etc.

Look, I work in the sports industry. Most people who love sports like Olberman. He's not a Bob Costas, but he has the depth of sports knowledge like a Costas. He's deeply respected within the sports world and most true football fans wouldn't care about Olderman sports commentary as long as he kept politics out of it.

Their "target audience?" Are they still so delusional that they think they're in the majority? That all males over 25 are idiots like them? When are they going to clue in to the fact that they only represent a fraction of the population? Such stubborn ignorance in this age of instant information is just scary.

These are obviously Fox Noise viewers and Limbaugh listeners. They are deluded because they unquestioningly believe everything The Noise says, as well as Limbaugh, Malkin, Coulter, Morgan, and all the other wackos.

These poor souls think they know the truth because they are not discerning enough to realize they are being fed a steady diet of lies. If I believed the things they believe, I might hold similar opinions. The problem is, the things they believe are totally false. Thus, opinions based on this false "knowledge" come across as cockeyed and reality-challenged.
