Pentagon Manipulates Intel
this is what Levin had to say:

He said the Pentagon's work, "which was wrong, which was distorted, which was inappropriate ... is something which is highly disturbing."

Mr. Levin, could I please rewrite your statement in the appropriate manner?

He said the Pentagon's work, "which was a lie, which was criminal, which costs the lives of hundreds of thousand ... is something which should cause certain people to hang."

Thank you.

1. Yep, please help them speak clearly.
How dare they pretend that this war, this abomination and the extensive means undertaken to achieve it can be whitewashed away with their bland language. Inappropriate? In fucking appropriate? Oh really? Do you think? What next, some "tough questions?" Will you retire behind closed doors to discuss what you don't want "us" to know? We already know. Washington is corrupt. Congress let this happen, and there are certain things that you won't discuss in front of the children - er, citizens of this country.

3. "distorted," " inappropriate," "disturbing"...but apparently not illegal...
"That was the argument that was used to make the sale to the American people about the need to go to war," said Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich. He said the Pentagon's work, "which was wrong, which was distorted, which was inappropriate ... is something which is highly disturbing."

The investigation by acting inspector general Thomas F. Gimble found that prewar intelligence work at the Pentagon, including a contention that the CIA had underplayed the likelihood of an al-Qaida connection, was inappropriate but not illegal. The report was to be presented to Levin's panel at a hearing Friday.

The report found that former Pentagon policy chief Douglas J. Feith had not engaged in illegal activities through the creation of special offices to review intelligence. Some Democrats also have contended that Feith misled Congress about the basis of the administration's assertions on the threat posed by Iraq, but the Pentagon investigation did not support that. Two people familiar with the findings discussed the main points and some details Thursday on condition they not be identified.

Well, I for one am happy this was made clear!

4. How could it be illegal when they make up the Laws as they go along
Congress is supposed to be the body that creates Law. Bush* has decided he is the "Decider" and not Congress so of course no Laws were broken..According to the National Security act of 1947 though All Intelligence Agencies are supposed to report to Congress. OSP did not do so..That would be illegal by the old standards but this is the Bush* Cabal we are talking about..
