Operation Silent Thunder: 'The Daily Show' In Iraq
NEW YORK, August 17, 2007

Join "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" for “Operation Silent Thunder: The Daily Show in Iraq,” a week of special reports filed from Iraq. Yes, actual Iraq, not greenscreen Iraq. "Daily Show" Senior War Correspondent Rob Riggle will provide in-depth coverage and insights from the front lines throughout the country where he was embedded with the troops and learned just how hot 120° really feels. Tune-in to "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" the week of August 20 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT for "Operation Silent Thunder: 'The Daily Show' in Iraq."

"The Daily Show" airs Monday-Thursday at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT and repeats at 1:00 a.m. the same night and at 10:00 a.m., 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. the following day. All segments will be posted for viewing the following day at both www.comedycentral.com with URL and embed links.

While on this trip to Iraq, Riggle toured with Horatio Sanz, Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer performing comedy sketches for the troops as part of the USO/Multi National Corps – Iraq entertainment tour entitled “Operation Feel the Heat.” A Major in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, Riggle served in Liberia, Kosovo and Afghanistan, and received more than 19 medals and ribbons, including the Combat Action Ribbon. Riggle's television credits include: "Saturday Night Live" (2004-2005), “The Office" and “Arrested Development.” He has also appeared numerous times on "Late Night with Conan O’Brien" from 1998 to 2004.

4. well, that segment lasted about six minutes. now he's on to bashing
dem debates again

is it me, or is he spending a whole lot of time on this?

he certainly seems to be spending a LOT more time on them than on the repub candidates, doesn't he

I know, it's a comedy show, and what he's saying is funny, mostly, but I'm not watching anymore. I tape every show, and I find myself fast forwarding a LOT lately

5. he just called Chavez a dictator
now he has nicholas kozloff (sp?) on, who calls him bombastic, to start off

Stewart just compared him to Hulk Hogan, though the author is sort of defending him, saying the media provide NO context for Chavez' denunciation of Bush

6. possibly his worst interview ever. amazingly ill-informed, half-ass questions.
at least he admitted toward the end that he "certainly do(es)n't" know anything about south america, to which the author responded, that's why I wrote the BOOK.

very disappointed in Stewart's playing into the basic anti-Chavez stereotypes

very
