Bullshit Heard On TV This Morning
As is my habit I turned on C-Span's Washington Journal this morning. It was particularly interesting this morning and promises to continue to be so all this coming week. I continued to watch after the program ended and so this comment may in fact be about someone who was on a later program.

One of the guests this morning, and I do not recall who, was making the Administration's case for our continued war in Iraq and justification for an assault on Iran. He said that currently the Army is tracking 60 terrorists who have crossed over from Iran and are headed toward Bagdad.

What transparent horseshit. "Tracking" them indeed. Iranian terrorists my ass. Do they honestly expect us to believe that if they had knowledge of such a group that they wouldn't be bombing them off the face of the earth?

The show went on. Apparently it never occurred to the host to ask, 'if we're tracking them why don't we kill or capture them?' How hard could it be to ask the question.

1. If you are trained to accept the logic of propaganda you do question...
such inconsistencies. You proceed without thinking to the next talking point which has been handed to you or discussed at a Georgetown dinner party the night before. It's sort of like Star Trek fans arguing the finer points of the "Trouble with Tribbles."

3. Except Star Trek fans use logic and (dare I say it?) data..
Plus the great majority of Trekkies know they are ultimately discussing fantasy.

Something which distinguishes them from most of the MSM.

4. Yes, that distinction escapes the MSM types...
when you confront them with facts outside the envelope they live in, a look of total disbelief and often complete befuddlement is the most common reaction...but almost never does comprehension take place.

2. We are rapidly moving towards attacking Iran. Just a matter of time.
I am as sure as I am of anything that Bush will attack Iran, maybe before the end of the year. The Dems have got to do something, but I don't know what that would be, except impeach the bastard.
