Interesting Kucinich vs Hacket article.... "You're a Democrat in Name only"
http://www.cleveland.com/news/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/news/1187254572252820.xml&coll=2

Washington- Iraq war veteran and former political candidate Paul Hackett on Wednesday disclosed a conversation he had in 2005 with Congressman Dennis Kucinich that can be characterized as troubling, odd or cold - but that Kucinich's office does not deny took place.

It occurred the day after Hackett, a Democrat, had won a primary election to run against Republican Jean Schmidt for the vacancy in Ohio's 2nd Congressional District. The seat came open when President Bush tapped then-Rep. Rob Portman to be his trade ambassador. Hackett, in a conference call with reporters, said he talked with Kucinich by phone.

He quoted Kucinich as saying, "I would rather see Jean Schmidt get elected to Ohio's 2nd Congressional District than you. Because you are wrong on Iraq, you fought in Iraq, you're a Democrat in name only."

1. Gee...Kucinich didn't Deny it?
according to this paragraph

Asked by The Plain Dealer to respond, Kucinich's office issued only this statement: "Congressman Kucinich thanks Mr. Hackett for his service to our country. Congressman Kucinich will continue to fight for and represent the people who elected him to office - the residents of the 10th Congressional District."

2. When Kuch starts getting attacked then I can take comfort in the fact that
he's making the establishment somewhat uncomfortable.

3. I never understood the love for Hackett
No substance that I could discern. DINO at best; opportunist at worst. A lawyer that went out on combat patrol? Please. Does anyone know what "getting my ticket punched" means?

What really pissed me off was all the DU'ers from out of state that wanted him in the Senate instead of Sherrod Brown, a bona-fide liberal. Glad they can't vote in my state. Hackett and Lieberman would be best buds.

4. “absolutely untrue and patently absurd”
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/08/15/antiwar-challenge-to-kucinich/

Through a spokesman, Mr. Kucinich called Mr. Hackett’s account “absolutely untrue and patently absurd,” and pointed to biting comments Mr. Hackett has made about other Democratic figures in the past—some for which he later apologized.

8. Paul Hackett is a liar and a fraud
I hope that we learn not to jump on the next bandwagon that rolls our way, just because they are smart enough to champion a popular issue.
