2. stopped Bush
from completely destroying Social Security. Passed an increase in the minimum wage and passed a lot of other good things that have been blocked by Republicans in the Senate.

8. Your could use a brush up lesson in history
The Civil Rights of 1964 can hardly be called a Democratic piece of legislation. It was truly bi-partisan. The vote in favor the bill in the House was 135-34 on the repub side and 152-96 on the Dem side. Similarly, in the Senate, the vote to pass the bill was 73/27, with 21 of the 27 no votes cast by Democrats. Assuredly, most of the no votes were cast by Southern Democrats who soon would become repubs, but the fact is that if it hadn't been for cooperation by repub leaders such as Dirksen, the bill wouldn't have passed.

There are plenty of better examples. I'll start with the votes that ultimately created the pressure to end the US involvement in Vietnam (even if they didn't pass). More recently, I'd say the Democrats "gave" us a lot simply by preventing repub proposals from moving forward, including a ban on gay marriage and a flag burning amendment. THere are plenty of other examples.

9. The Dems gave me 39 months in SE Asia.
Gay mariage and flag burning?

I don't participate in either one of those.

But I do know Bill Clinton.

Does that count?

12. Representative Delahunt D-MA
saved me from getting hit by a car.

True story I was up on the hill during the Clinton impeachment debacle and saw him on the street - I was telling him how pleased I was with the Dems on the judiciary committee - thanking him etc etc etc - not paying attention and was about to get in the way of an on coming car and he grabbed me and pulled me out of the way....
