Girl, 3, Shoots Boy, 6
http://www.todaystmj4.com/news/local/9033662.html

MILWAUKEE - Police are investigating the shooting of a 6-year-old boy by a 3-year-old girl Tuesday night.

It happened in a home near Teutonia and Chambers. Police say 6-year-old Tariq Davis was shot in the stomach. Davis’ mother was allegedly babysitting two other children at their home. One of the children, a 3-year-old girl, retrieved the 32-caliber semi-automatic handgun from behind a stove in the kitchen and brought it back to a bedroom where the kids were playing. Another 6-year old was also present, when she accidentally fired at Tariq.

...

The one adult who remained in the house is a 32-year-old man said to be the gun's owner. He is being held pending charges of storing a firearm in the reach of a child and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Police may call in child welfare services to conduct an investigation.

Authorities say the 3-year-old girl is presumably at home with her mother. The toddler will not face any charges.

7. Given the propensity to try and convict children as adults, I am rather shocked
that the DA is not trying to make that very case. If it had happened one county to the West, it may have been done.

Awful story all around.

9. Like I said on another poll, I'm competent and qualified
to own a gun, so I should be able to own a gun.

The loser in this story is neither competent nor qualified.
It's more than knowing how to use a gun.
Its protecting the people around you from misuse of guns.

This guy failed and a 6 year old died unnecessarily

10. The good news is that the boy is expected to survive and is stable.
The "owner" is a felon who was not supposed to be in possession at all.

13. Thank Goodness he'll survive
This story brings a question in my mind . "The toddler won't be charged"

I wonder though if it had been the 6 yr old who had acciddently fired
if it would be the same.
