...war, death, and very serious issues are passionately discussed, and experienced here - can you blame people for stepping back - for saying goodbye. The incomprehensible, insidious evil that is infiltrating our government is overwhelming. I believe everyone here has said goodbye at one point. But, this place is like a family - a nurturing family that understands this need to disengage, and we're glad to see people return. That's what makes DU special. Drama occurs in every strong family.

7. Oh, fer cryin out loud! Sorry, I think these folks just take themselves too seriously!

I'm sorry they feel so bad, but who ever said life is fair? I know what to say and not to say on DU, and I'm not apologetic about it. It's just that I know what I'll get back. So I think these things thru.

Also, andmost importantly, DU is not my life. I love it as a daily hour or so online to decompress. Plus, I learn SO much on Du that I wouldn'tknow otherwise. But it has its limits, as well it should. I have a family and friends so I have plenty of affirmation with them.

Can we all get along? Or at least move on? Enabling self pity really isn't the answer for either DU or the "Goodbyers".

I have seen the waxing and waning of chaos, especially during election cycles and epsecially PRIMARIES. If you want to leave, you leave... The the rash of 'suicide' posts is just cheap drama. This is a BIG and VERY diverse community, we've been thru victories and tragedies, and we're STILL HERE!!!

My threads all sink - well, I admit I've probably only started about 8, and they didn't ALL sink, but people don't realize how important each and every single one of my threads are and I've had it, too.

Not only that, so often when I see a "goodbye DU' thread, it's someone I didn't even know existed, and I was thinking maybe if I posted one, at least a few people would know I existed. I NEED attention, I'm from a BIG family.

I dunno, having a "Goodbye DU" section would really decrease the drama of the post, and I'd really miss all the really sweet and nice people who post..."oh just take a little time off, then come back", and even the "don't let the door hit 'ya where the good lord split ya's".

I admit I've never understood why they post the threads, cause when I leave, I just leave, and then, when I come back, I just come back, and the reality is, DU gets along just fine either way.

Ahh...DU - what would I do without you?? I could never really leave I think it's kind of an addiction, plus, I'd miss Kurovski too much!
