45. Not for Senator Reid, though--he once read his own book for 8 hours straight
on the Senate floor--and neever forget he won't drink coffee!

51. That's right. Mormons don't drink coffee do they?
I didn't know about him reading his book for 8 hours! :)

Was it Strom Thurmond or Robert Byrd who had cots brought to the senate floor?

in order to prevent recess appointments? I was thinking this morning that it would be a great plan for the Dems to stay in session in August in contrast to the Iraqi parliament.

Now maybe the GOP will get serious and deal with some of the business the House has passed that is stagnating in their "to do" bin.

For so long now I've thought privately "If I were Harry I would keep the senate open 24/7 until things get done". I've thought that so many times and always wished so much he would do something so ballsy.

Go get 'em Harry!
