Watching a Bush "press conference" can be dangerous to your brain.
Edited on Thu Jul-12-07 10:48 AM by Cyrano
I can't believe I spent 20 minutes listening to sounds coming from the random word generator named George Bush. I suddenly realized my eyes had glazed over and my ears were hearing noises that sounded like they might somehow be distantly related to the English language.

But what really scared me was when I saw my brain get up and leave the room. Quickly turning off the tube, I chased it, caught it, and tried to smack it back into some semblance of reality.

If nothing else, I now know how those twenty some odd percent of mentally challenged Bush supporters feel every hour of every day. The only difference is, they don't make any attempt to recapture their errant brains.

Having almost recovered, I have been thinking about injustice and the fact that there's never a lightning bolt around when you need one. And I also feel it is my duty to warn all sane people to never, ever tune into a station on which this despicable, hollow little man is grunting, grinning and rambling.

1. So, you had an out-of-body experience, huh?
I'm glad I stopped watching & listening to him awhile ago. I'll just wait to see it posted on DU. It doesn't hurt my eyes or ears that way.

2. Well, said Cyrano. And thanks for reinforcing my decision NOT to watch this POS
EVER. Except for maybe Jon Stewart's Daily Show segments. Otherwise, I like to say I have the fastest remote in the west. Loved the word picture about chasing down your brain. And I too keep waiting for that lightning bolt.

DUers has my unending thanks for keeping me informed about what's going on in the surreal world * and his minions have created for us. I only pray it's not too late to fix the damage!

3. I think it actually raises my BP and is bad for my health
when I listen to that loser and realize he's in charge of our country.

8. I agree. I honestly believe that listening to any of them, whether Bush,

Cheney, or any of their henchmen in congress, on hate radio, or any other forum within hearing distance is detrimental to the physical and mental health of any sane, rational person.

Edited for spelling.

5. It was, simply and for no other purpose, as there is no news, to take the reporters
and the TV away from the Conyers hearing on Miers. Bush said absolutely nothing new, and in fact resorted to repeating WITHIN the session, a Meta-Repetition, if you will.

Period. That's why the timing was precisely, virtually to the minute, the same.

6. What did he say?
I'm not near a TV.
Did he say we can succeed unless we fail? Is it hard work? Is it Clinton's fault?

7. I have a headache from viewing the idiot in chief!
I kept yelling and cussing so loud my husband came in from the garage and thought I was in trouble! He just went in and turned off the TV and said sit and cool down, you should know better. My blood pressure sure was up! Oh, how I really hate this man, I can not help it, we have our grandson in Afganistan and its a constant worry. He has been to Iraq twice already, it feels like our family is living a nightmare that has gone on far to long! How on earth do we get rid of this piece of crap that has no shred of humanity in his soul?

11. I too shriek at the lies and insanity coming from TV, the radio, and printed headlines.
But I do not have a child or grandchild caught up in the darkness that Cheney, Bush and their minions have brought down upon us. My heart goes out to you, and may your grandson come home safe and whole.

12. Aauuughhh. Sorry, don't mean to kick this thread, but
I just saw a "news" rerun of what's described above in this post and my brain once again lept from its moorings.

Goddamn it to hell. If only we possesed the seeming unending endurance of our enemies, we might somehow find the will and determination to send them back to the hell from whence they came.

In the meantime, let's just go on bitching, moaning, and performing the ineffectual activities for which I am as responsible as everyone else.
