Replaced by the ESPN Radio Network.

That is just depressing! But I guess we were lucky to have her while we did for the last 2 years.

I know I can get her pod cast but I liked having the entire array with Franken following her and then Ed Shultz. I know we were losing Franken anyway but I never thought the whole station would change over.

I am truly sad...

1. Same thing happened in NYC market on September 1, 2001 when
WEVD, a progressive format was changed to ESPN. The station was sold by the Jewish Forward to Disney for its 30 pieces of silver.

2. ESPN Radio
...is a huge wasteland. After 5 minutes, you've heard their whole act.

3. In the Dallas area, we lost our AAR for a second Catholic station ...
last October. But we wouldn't want to be conspiracy theorists about this, would we?

5. I know! My son in law is miserable about it. I can't believe this happens
in such liberal and progressive markets as Boston and New Haven!
I used to drive up to Boston and switch from my station to theirs with barely a half hour lost in transit on a stretch of I84.

It was all too good to be true!

Let's take a look at what WELI offers:
Glenn Beck
Rush Limbaugh

John Gibson
Laura Ingraham

That looks like a fair substitute, don't you think?

9. This is happening nationwide .... it is no accident

http://progressivetalk1260.com/main.html

Listen on line .... Washington D.C.'s clear channel station.

In Columbus, OH w/ no pub, no p.r., and a piss poor signal
WTPG was doing great ...... Stephanie Miller tripled the ratings and
last fall she doubled what she had done in the summer ...... and
Ohio went blue big time last November.

Clear Channel dumped the format over XMAS so we could
not organize ..... unlike Madison WS

Please remember the military / industrial complex needs to protect
bush and Cheney .... they are making a killing and spending a few million
nationwide to shut down progressive talk is small change.

Call your senators and demand that the fairness doctrine be brought back ....
and join non stop radio ....

http://www.nonstopradio.com/

Boston, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Warren OH, Arizona, and all over; the word has gone out ...
shut it down. Especially after the last election.

Here is an e mail I just got about a little station in Duluth MN / Superior WS.

DULUTH IS READY TO FIGHT!

Duluth, MN February 3, 2007 - A high temperature that wouldn't budge above zero couldn't keep Barb from going out to meet with other Progressives at the Living Green Conference. The loss of the only Progressive Talk outlet in the market kept her and many others there hot enough under the collar to fight off the biting chill. In fact, they decided, they were going to fight to get Progressive Talk back.

1490 KQDS-AM was Duluth, Minnesota's and Superior, Wisconsin's channel for Ed Schultz, Al Franken, Sam Seder, and many more well-loved Progressive voices, carried on a paltry 1000 Watt signal that made the ratings it managed to earn truly impressive. The owner of the the only Progressive Talk outlet (in a city that votes heavily Democratic each and every election) terribly neglected it, not even deigning to put up the most rudimentary website-- its fans put together a MySpace page so they had an online gathering point.

"When it was shut down, there was no warning," Barb said, "an advertiser told me she went in to renew her ads just the week before without a word said to her" about the upcoming format flip.

The proud Progressive and Liberal folk of Duluth, Minnesota and Superior, Wisconsin weren't about to let that be the end of their sole oasis in a market that boasts several conservative talk stations. They are gathering support to flip another station in their market to carry the radio they demand. Time to roll up your sleeves and get in there with them. Go to www.NonStopRadio.com and click on "Duluth". This will take you to their petition and online mail list, where you can find out how best you can help them in their fight to bring back Duluth's Progressive Talk.

11. It better not happen to the station I listen to her on.
Dang. I'm going to meet and greet for Steph on the 17th. Hope she stays in most of the markets she's in. She needs more stations, not less.
