Bush Has Spent the ENTIRE WEEK Celebrating His Own Birthday --->>>
Edited on Sun Jul-08-07 08:45 AM by Stephanie

What is he, twelve? I guess pardoning his co-conspirator was such hard work he needed a break. Three days of fishing in Maine, followed by a birthday party on Wednesday, baseball game on Thursday (what's in the bag?), then knock off on Friday morning to head to Camp David, presumably to ride his bicycle. And it's not even his August month-long vacation yet. This is just the birthday celebration week.

Bush Marks 61st Birthday On Friday
Bush Turns 61 On Friday, A Birthday He Celebrates A Bit Early

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/07/08/ap/preswho/main3029033.shtml

(AP) When President Bush turned 60 last year, the milestone garnered interest around the globe. On Friday, he turned a year older, but to much less notice.

Bush celebrated his 61st birthday a bit early _ with dinner and a party that first lady Laura Bush threw for him Wednesday evening at the White House, where he watched the Fourth of July fireworks over the National Mall.

On Thursday night, the president took in his favorite pastime, venturing across town to see the Washington Nationals play the Chicago Cubs. With no fanfare, the former part-owner of the Texas Rangers entered RFK Stadium at the bottom of the first inning, sat in a team box with team executives and an owner, and left after the seventh-inning stretch. The Cubs won 4-2.

Spokesman Scott Stanzel said Bush "had a wonderful evening" on Wednesday. His parents, former President George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush, were there _ after the president just spent a long weekend with them at their summer home on the Maine coast.

Bush's 25-year-old twin daughters, Barbara and Jenna, also came to the White House to celebrate their father's birthday. Barbara had joined her dad and grandparents in Kennebunkport, Maine, over the weekend.

Stanzel said that "a number of good friends" came as well. Guests included several professional golfers, including Phil Mickelson, Fred Funk, Justin Leonard, Davis Love III, Jim Furyk, Brad Faxon, Paul Azinger and Jeff Maggert, and their spouses, said Emily Lawrimore, a White House spokeswoman.

The big-name field of golfers are in the area for the inaugural AT&T National at Congressional Country Club in suburban Washington. The PGA event is commonly known as Tiger's Tournament because it was created by Tiger Woods and benefits his Tiger Woods Foundation.

At the White House party, Funk gave Bush a TaylorMade golf bag with the presidential seal embroidered into it and his name on the bag, Lawrimore said.

Bush was scheduled to leave Friday for the presidential retreat at Camp David in Maryland. Last year, friends joined the first couple for the birthday weekend.

24. clueless pundits still struggle over whether it's Bush or Cheney...
...who holds the reins of power, or if it's Bush's "philosophy" of governing or Cheney's. Well, my answer is that all policy flows from Cheney and his cronies, but George gets to do all the "fun" stuff... like strut around, be The Decider and The Commander, wear cod pieces in his pilot suit and declare "Mission Accomplished," get to stand at the podium and pimp himself, say really profound things like "I've got capital now, and I intend to use it," without having any freakin' idea what he's talking about. Bush gets to parade around as the Emperor with no clothes, while Cheney goes around behind him "in the shadows" and destroys the country. That's the deal they made. I'll do all the hard work, George, and you do all the fun "prezy-denshal" stuff that doesn't matter to me. And Georgie said, "works for me!"

He's trying to hide the evidence again!!! Maybe he's trying to avoid another "real vs. near beer" debate like he caused at the G8. Good luck with that, Chimpy, we all know what you've got. :eyes:

22. Well, he *is* the president
And he works really hard. It's not easy screwing the nation (plus significant portions of the entire world), lying 99% of the time your mouth is moving, weaseling you way out of every predicament you manage to get yourself into and doing your best to lower your poll numbers.

32. exactly
There is only one thing anyone drinks within a bag. Can you imagine if Clinton was like this how the media would handle it? It's as if Bill took a date to a ball game. It's as scandalous for the President to be an acknowledged problem drinker who swears he hasn't touched any alcohol in now 21 years to be seen drinking out of a bag in public. But then again I stopped waiting for the press to report these types of scandals since they ignored a Gay Miltary prostitute with no credentials in the WH press corps with many overnight visits to the WH. The president actually called on Gannon by name. Yet? Crickets. An unexplainable bulge in his jacket during a debate that he appeared to be getting help in? Nothing. Groping a head of State? a few giggles. Nope our alcoholic leader is doing what many Americans do at the ballpark. Addicts are all about habits and associations. Perhaps that beer with baseball just can't be given up.
