Bloomberg may have a chance, the people are disgusted, congress approval at 14%
http://blogs.usatoday.com/gallup/2007/06/what_do_hmos_an.html

Just 14% of Americans have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in Congress.

This 14% Congressional confidence rating is the all-time low for this measure, which Gallup initiated in 1973. The previous low point for Congress was 18% at several points in the period of time 1991 to 1994.

Congress is now nestled at the bottom of the list of Gallup's annual Confidence in Institutions rankings, along with HMOs. Just 15% of Americans have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in HMOs. (By way of contrast, 69% of Americans have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in the military, which tops the list. More on this at galluppoll.com on Thursday).

It’s worth remembering that Congress is basically nothing more than a mechanism for the representation of the people’s wishes. We all can’t go to Washington. So we elect men and women and send them off in our stead. It’s not an optimal situation, it seems to me, when such a low percentage of average Americans have confidence in this system.

1. I think Democrats are in serious danger of losing the Senate in 2008 if nothing changes.
People are simply going to vote for the challenger out of spite.

5. the problem is
many people are sick and tired of the two-party system but don't want to waste their vote on someone who has no credibility or chance at winning.

$1 billion buys instant credibility in the minds of people.

6. Once again, the problem that I have with Blomberg is that he an Oportunist...
If I can't win in that party, hell just switch to another affiliation... That to me is BS... What does the man stand for anyway? I realize that he is self made, but so was Ross Porott.... (One huge ego) and to me that does nothing for the lower or middle class in this country!

7. I know two DLC chairmen have met with him.
Al From and Harold Ford. Ford spoke at the conference that went on this week.

If look at the agenda, it is mostly centrist. No room for progressives there.

12. Then why is he joining with that bunch, which he apparently is.
I don't know much about Bloomberg, just that he doesn't know what he is anymore....but he sure is in good company in not know that.

We have a group setting our party policy which argued to the IRS that they are not really appealing to Democrats because Republicans like their policies better.

Go figure.

8. He will have a chance in the right
side of the votes....I do not believe no self respecting democrat will be lead astray this time like in 2000 when they voted for Nader....Ask one that voted for Nader if they are proud of that vote.....Hell, in the latest poll which was taken yesterday, HRC was at least 20 points ahead of both Rudy and Bloomberg.....
I do thank you
Ben David
