This is very moving. It made me cry a little, actually. This is one of the families that John represented as a lawyer.

5. Such A Heartbreaking Story

It was in the Four Trials book.

What got me crying was the part where Valerie told he mother that she didn't think anyone would want to marry her because of her condition. And Mrs. Lakey said she wished it had happened to her instead. And little Valerie was like "I don't, I don't ever want it to happen to anyone."

And that's why we need trial lawyers. Sure some of them are sleazy and sometimes the plaintiffs are just greedy. But companies are always trying to do things on the cheap and when their cutting corners injures or kills someone, they need to know that the cheap way isn't always the least expensive.

It was an emotional event. There were tears. Those of us who have supported John Edwards for years knew about the Lakey family. Seeing them in person and hearing Sandy Lakey speak was incredibly moving.

Today's event with John Edwards was one of the most touching experiences of my life.

I get so sick JRE being called an opportunistic trial lawyer. This is a guy who has beaten corporations and their very slick interests over and over again.

Unlike some of you, I didn't know this story until recently.

I was supporting Kucinich before, and am glad to now be in the Edwards camp! There is a depth to that man, and his wife, that is sorely needed in this country.

I don't agree with everything they do...Elizabeth is a bit too stoic for my taste....but that isn't a huge factor when it comes to the occupant of the Oval Office.
