1. There was a story of someone robbing a bank in order to get medical care in prison.
Perhaps soon, unemployed people will break the law in order to get the work offered to inmates.

2. The "good ol' days revisited."
This same thing was prevalent in the 1920's in America. Then it was mostly agriculture for the inmates.

In old England it was common for the inmates, even in the "debtors prisons", to work for the fiefdoms where they wer in prison. The younger ones were "pressed" into military service.

Every progressive improvement we have made in America to strengthen our freedoms, are quickly being destroyed by the corporatism that has taken control of America. Led by the greedy 2-3% .

Americans are way too slow to act, but eventually, there will be no choice.

3. I personally believe.....
That all children be incarcerate at the age of 6 and serve a mandatory sentence of 14-19 years of hard academic or vocational time. Three hots and cots for the tots is my motto.

Since funding for prisons is increasing and that for education is shrinking, it is a logical next step. They can graduate into the prison workforce or release safely into society.

Of course they will miss Mom and Dad but they are latchkey or homeless kids now. At least we can get them off the streets.

It's a win-win.
