Republicans in Louisiana are fighting for the right to place a "Ten
Commandments" monument on the grounds of the state capitol. I guess they forgot
about that "separation of church and state" Thom asks Dr. Carol Swain, Author,
Be The People: A Call to Reclaim America's Faith and Promise, If the Deerborne,
Michigan city hall wanted to put up a monument to the Koran on it's grounds -
would that be ok with you?

logic, the state of Louisiana has the right through its elected legislature to pass laws and to enforce laws declaring Christianity to be the official and only legal religion in the state, which is, of course, where shit like this always spreads unless promptly flushed.

2. Then I guess that it IS time that Sharia law comes to Dearborn, MI, Right?
There you have it… Why our fundie friends are sooo scared of the "Sharia Law in America" boogeyman. Because, if given the chance, they'd install a fundamentalist theocracy into our halls of government in a heartbeat.

This "Sharia Law" crap is nothing more than pure projection.

BTW, I just happened to be in Montgomery, AL for USAF training when Judge Roy Moore tried to install a Ten Commandments monument inside the AL State Supreme Court. Everyone knew that it was nothing more than a political stunt then, especially his colleagues who put the kibosh on it.

I thought that I heard to the last of this kind of thing… I guess I was wrong.

I'll tell you what I don't get about these people… We live in a secular republic, am I correct?

So, how does this promotion of politically sponsored symbols of only particular religions guarantee the fair and equitable application of government for ANYONE who belongs to any other religion that's not sponsored?

Does anyone have an answer to this question?

3. Fund madrasha's also
If the religious right believe in vouchers to send kids to
religious schools, how about Islamic schools, don't Muslims in
this country pay taxes to, but whoops, nope, christians only
apply. So much for separation of church and state, and they
who are so opposed to facism, don't they know the nazis were
christians? They weren't buddists, muslims or hindus
