2. Yes, his dad is a dick. Doesn't sound like he's very bright, either...
So sad, that Bradley has a dad who can't even stand up for him. Oh, and that super-patriot BS :puke:

And he would be stupid to ever ask Bradley if he did it. I would expect that all conversations in the prison are monitored.

Yeah, dad is a worthless POS.

4. Parents should hold their children accountable for their actions
Too many of them don't these days.

18. I agree, but
does he need to go on TV and speculate and pre-judge along with everyone else?

17. Yea
Saw the Frontline interview, and anyone who thinks joining the service will cure all of your ills is an idiot. He pretty much did Bradley in--I've always said it, and I think we all know, some people just aren't cut out for the military. I know I'm not.

3. If Manning had released the secrets about Osama bin Laden...
...and blown the Seal Team 6 raid, would you still support him?

If Manning had only released info about a massacre, I could understand that. By dumping tens of thousands of documents whole hog, that struck me as the act of a petulant employee. I don't see Manning as a hero.

5. I agree. He made no attempt to distinguish which documents
were merely embarrassing and which could interfere with fighting terrorists like Bin Laden or negotiating with others for peace. He wasn't a hero, just an angry, confused young man.

9. as far as I can tell, Bradley hasn't been convicted
of releasing all the wiki material. In fact, from what I've heard the only info that we know he released was the massacre video.

12. True. I should have used the word "alleged" or "allegations."
Sorry.

7. If my grandma had balls, we would have called her grandpa
alas, my nonny is a lovely lady.

Let's play another "what if" alternative reality game: what if Manning had not released all those cables with some of the tidbits which fueled the revolts in Northern Africa?

15. He didn't. He would never have been given access to
top level secrets.

A lot of hype about something but not much if you want to ask me. A lot of the diplomatic cables simply reflected the local gossip in various places around the world. The rest reflect the opinions of American diplomats. Interesting and sometimes informative -- but about past not future actions.

You can put a lot of stuff together that is not even on Wikileaks if you watch the news from different countries.

8. I felt bad for Brandley Manning when his dad gave that interview
Having to grow up with an ass of a father like that had to be rough.

10. WTF!?!?
His superiors "almost didn't send him to Iraq" because he was considered "emotionally unstable," yet he ends up "having access" to thousands of top secret documents?!?!

Does anyone else here smell a big, putrid rat?

11. What a cowardly fuck...
It's obvious he has a bad relationship with his son; he would not be able to have a healthy relationship with anyone. He looks and sounds like a homophobe religinut neo-con.

14. This is one disgusting excuse for a father
He should have said, "Innocent until proven guilty. Interview over." Instead he threw his son to the wolves. Does he have any feeling for what his son is going through now?
