From the BBC, while the United States still holds a modest lead in the number of technology patents and technological advances, thanks to the Chinese government investing heavily in education, science, technology, and R&D, that gap is rapidly shrinking, with the Chinese set to overtake the U.S. in less than three short years.

This video is a good follow-up to an earlier video of mine entitled: China's economy soars thanks to government spending.

1. Good on China
America has become a nation of scientific hillbillies and backwoodsman. There is a price to be paid for willful ignorance.

prowess once held. There are many many smart and dedicated people in the world. Eventually we will have to get everything from other nations, probably care packages.

It's getting in the US so you need to conceal your education is in the sciences, some of these hick regressives would like to take you out.

When we don't know something all we have to do is pray.

5. I have to keep reminding myself of that, yep, sure is working well. Guess that's
why US is #1 in everything! Amazing, isn't it, I bet a good percentage think that's all that's needed.

4. We'll remain a leader in science
and make a big comeback because we are investing in top-notch education and promoting science heavily so that will be a sure thing.

Ah ... oops ... wait ... that's not us!

No, we have teabag-heads undoing, (or facilitating) the destruction, (or collapse) of education, our commons and public sector, medical services, job market, etc.

Well, let's see now. How does that impact the wealthy and their multinational veils? Other countries provide plenty of profit and opportunities. We can become somewhat like Somalia here and that will still have advantages to them because, poverty has a payoff and helps to dis-empower those disenfranchised which will make them much easier to exploit or throw into a private prison for taxpayer dollars.

Thus, PROFIT!

Fixed!

6. You know, they do have about 4 times as many people as we do....
And a government unburdened by dissent and religious influence

I would be frightened and dismayed if such a large and powerful country remained poor and backwards.

9. That's how they've been since 1945

I would be more worried about a country with no equal in technology and manpower. Look at the United States.

12. Investing.
The point of my posting this video isn't to suggest we "shouldn't be behind China" or encourage any kind of "competition".

The POINT is how MASSIVE INVESTMENT IN SCIENCE, EDUCATION AND R&D is turning China into an economic powerhouse while we become a nation of backwards homeschooled morons that fawn over stupidity (Bush, Palin, et al), diss math & science, and call educated people "elitist".

7. Let's send them some Creationists!
They'll start rewriting the Chinese science books. Evolution? Bah! Earth more than 6,000 years old? Bah! All those fossils? Just a trick the Lord God Almighty played on us to, um, test our faith. Yeah, that's the ticket. Everything that looks wrong about creationism is just a test of our faith.

Now, don't you Chinese want to prove your faith is strong? Then reject that ungodly science!
