Wow! Maybe we can get Jacob to run for Congress in a few years? Maybe the White House is calling in 2032?

Really, though, if ever you despair about the future of our country, just watch this video. With kids like Jacob coming of age soon, there's great reason to be much more hopeful about the future!

(Quick note: Though Cenk says Obama himself hasn't spoken out very much about it, Organizing for America is mobilizing for the folks in Wisconsin!)

6. Exactly. They assumed he would be a typical
Republican indoctrinated brain dead dummy. Otherwise he wouldn't have been allowed to speak.

3. There are a lot of kids who will be 17 years old by this Nov in 2011, who will vote next year.
And believe me, they are far more connected to what is going on around them with their cell phones, iPads, computers, etc, than the kids of the 60s or 70s were.

Jacob has a lot of guts to stand up and speak out for teachers like that.
I'm sure a lot of other kids thought he was just grandstanding, but he did a good job of telling it like it is.

4. Long term, Republicans are in trouble. And they know it.
Hence they are resorting to tactics like this in a desperate attempt to weaken the Democratic Party.

5. Why is that so hard for anyone to say? Listen to the 17 year
old. Tax the rich more. We're only talking by a few additional percentage points. Stop flogging the middle class who have suffered enough already. It takes a young person to put it so succinctly.

7. Is it me
or has Greta gotten even screechier in recent years? My God, whatta pitch. Oh, that's right - she's friends with Quitter. Maybe it's rubbed off.

K&R for Cenk & Jacob.

8. Voter turnout
Wanna bet the apathy will be much less next election?

I hear Australia fines citizens who don't vote. Starts small but escalates the more elections you skip. Voter ID? I like this better.

Smart kid out foxes Fox by being smarter than a Palin!

9. I hope there's little apathy in 2012.
If there is less apathy, Republicans are toast. But more importantly, things might actually get done. If not in Washington or Madison, then at least at the local level.
