1. Alternatively, will he also only pay out chickens in malpractice cases?

What a disingenuous ass clown that doctor is.

His logic or scheme doesn't stand up to the most basic scrutiny and he knows it?

Send them to Medicaid?:banghead:

7. Dr. Watson also approved of single payer government
health care and he didn't realize it. Every doctor who hates insurance, and insists on cash up front, also seems to not like government paid health care, yet every single one of them, when you argue with them, suggests that you go on Medicaid or Medicare, government single payer programs when you get that end stage or chronic disease that no insurance will pay and no family can afford without going into debt and bankruptcy. My doctor employer is a cash up front guy, but when his patients can't pay, sometimes does discounts and if they can't afford that, he sends them to Community Health Services, which for the most part is funded by Medicaid. He has also done barter, not with chickens, but other professional services like dentistry or law. Dr. Watson brought up the story about the Amish, who as a community pool their resources to pay the medical bills of a member of the community, which is also a form of single payer, just not run by the government.

Also, that man on your show, whose wife was turned away from specialists because they weren't taking new patients was given the brush off because of their insurer. No doctor doesn't take new patients. That line is code for the fact that they aren't taking any new patients from that particular insurer because they got fed up dealing with them from being underpaid or to not being paid at all. Let's face it, health insurance is a pox on our health care system and it has to go. I'm certain those doctors who don't want government funded health care would see the wisdom of it, once they realize that cash up front for everyone isn't a workable solution. Those patients eventually have to go the Medicaid route after they have hit rock bottom and spent everything they own first. This is not a way to treat hard working people by impoverishing them because they got a nasty disease because of genes, an accident, or occupation.

8. I hope a lot of people take him up on this, so he
can see the flaw of accepting chickens and other livestock...It's folly unless he has a farm or really loves to eat chicken (with the time to kill and clean them)

9. Watson say doctors were not consulted re. gov. health reform.
Doctors were not consulted by insurance companies who have been controlling health care in this country either. Why wasn't he speaking out when the medical profession was being taken over by big insurance companies? The damn pussies let go control of their own profession.

11. This asshat also stated that Medicare is broke.
Another one of those anti-'entitlement' clowns.

Medicare is withheld from paychecks the same way that SS is done. The funds are also in escrow(bonds) and are backed by the full faith of our government. Whatever that's worth these days..

18. dr needs a psycho checkup. Medicare's broke my ass.
SS is closer (30 some years) to being broke than Medicare is. Lost his argument the moment he said that. Is he really a doctor??

Brought into every meeting.
Given a large hand in writing the reforms.
Doctors?
They were not welcome.

10. I'm on Medicare;
And I pay about $90 a month premium. Also, I do pay a portion for deductibles. Don't get me started on part D!

Every Dr. I've had in the past 10 years has stated the need for comprehensive health care reform. I do ask them their opinion and they are forthcoming. Very few lean the way this idiot espouses. Nearly all are for their patient and want equity and not more and more income.

BTW, I have had a lot of doctors in the past 10 years. I move a lot.

And does he prefer them delivered live to his front door, or frozen and dead?

16. Do you suppose that Sallie Mae would accept payment in
fishing poles or chickens? This doctor probably went to medical school back when you did not have to hock your life in order to pay the tuition and costs. But current medical school graduates start their careers with debilitating debt.

I would not want to have this man as my doctor. He doesn't strike me as a really good critical thinker. He's not House.

Lots of tea party physicians out there. They are as stupid, scared, and simple as the entire group. Being a doctor doesn't protect you from the curse of being a Republican. Jeve
