The whole thing makes for a bad analogy.
The kitten is cute and to say people can’t see it or it could turn out dangerous sound like a paranoid crazy.

It would have been better with a bug.

A) A fly that starts out as annoying, quickly multiplies, lives in shit and spreads disease.

B) A mosquito that starts off as annoying, quickly multiplies, sucks your blood and spreads disease

While I have seen some nasty kittehs and cats, a house cat does NOT convey the image of something harmful that is underestimated.

My initial impression was that the kitten represented all the terrible "dangers" that Palin tries to scare people with. Crying wolf, as it were.

While I appreciate the parody of Reagan's original bear commercial, I have to agree that representing Palin as a kitten underplays the real danger. I see her as more of a wolf-bitch in sheep's designer clothing.

8. That was very painful to watch

Sarah Palin reminds me of one of the big hair "mean girls" I grew up with in high school and her voice grates on me like zombie claws on chalkboard. Whoever created that skit must have a bad case of ailurophobia and see giant 12-foot monsters with venom-dripping fangs every time he sees kittens. Please use a bat laughing maniacally or something else that denotes how crazy she really is. Stephen King once referred to her as "Greg Stillson in skirts." Maybe a tiger in a business suit would convey the message.

I"m not actually sure what it's trying to say.

I don't think anyone in their right mind sees her as a harmless kitten. Those that love her, love her for her venom. Those that despise her for all she stands for recognize that she is a very dangerous woman who loves to stir up the tea baggers.

Maybe get a full grown cat, fill the tea bag with cat nip, and watch the cat tear the bag to pieces and devour the content. Then the cat licks it's chops, gives one of those looks of satisfaction that felines are so famous for, and moves on to bigger prey...

18. Why people love Palin

They don't lover her for her "venom," because they don't see what she says and does as being venomous. They love her because she says the things they'd want to say if they were in her position and she stands up for what they believe in (no matter how wacky those things may be.)
I chose to use the kitten because a cute, playful kitten can mesmerize people as few other things can. And boy can Palin Mesmerize people. Even if you hate her, she's like a car wreck from which you can't avert your eyes.
