More like they are afraid of offending fundies and religious people.

Anyway, part of this touches on all the bipartisan doodling which has all but crippled the Health Care bill. It IS true that Americans are tired of the bickering, but Dems being bipartisan has not even dampened the RW misery fest.

I wish they'd just do what they know is correct and let the RW rant and rave all it wants. It might help if the MSM would stop pretending that the yelling RW is some kind of majority.

4. I'm all for profiling.

Look. I know it's not popular to say, but there is a reason why stereotypes exist.

When people talk about avoiding dark alley ways at night, it doesn't mean that all dark alley ways at night are dangerous. But enough bad things have happened in dark alley ways at night that people now, intelligently, avoid them as probably being dangerous places to be - they have a stereotype about them.

People generally don't touch stove tops. Not because all stove tops are hot, but because experience has shown that they often are and when you make a mistake and touch one that is hot, the consequences are severe. So, intelligently, people avoid touching stove tops - they have a stereotype about them.

It's only political correctness that makes us squeamish about applying this to people.
