The High Court has ruled that US intelligence documents containing details of the alleged torture of a former UK resident can be released.

Ethiopian-born Binyam Mohamed, 31, who spent four years in Guantanamo Bay, claims British authorities colluded in his torture while in Pakistan.

High Court judges were previously blocked from making the details public.

Any publication of the material will be delayed until an appeal takes place.

1. The United States has no choice but to cooperate with the U.K.
and share sensitive information. We need the information from the British just as badly as they need ours.

If Obama has truly stopped the torture, then what is the harm in releasing the truth about what previously happened? Torture is primitive. We have weapons that sophisticated weapons that permit us to spy on terrorists and destroy them. We do not need to torture people. Those who torture are not doing it in order to obtain useful information but rather to satisfy their sadistic impulses in my opinion. We cannot allow our government to torture. The right to remain silent is, I am beginning to realize, the most essential of all rights.
