The market for seal skins is drying up. This could be the last year of the Harp Seal hunt. Then I can go back to eating at Red Lobster (boycotted).

On Saturday, March 14, 2009, over a hundred Vancouver Island residents marched through Nanaimo to show their opposition to the Canadian commercial seal hunt. Bruce Foerster of the West Coast Anti-Sealing Coalition commented that it was the largest anti-sealing demonstration he had seen in British Columbia. Thanks Nanaimo!

2. Where were these guys a year ago? A seal cull was proposed just 100 km from Nanaimo, but...

...no one from the West Coast Anti-Sealing Coalition protested that, as far as I can recall. (Come to think of it, there was nary a peep from any anti-sealing groups.)

Is this group brand-new, or are they just selective about which seals to support?
