Democratic National Committee Chair Howard Dean speaks to the party faithful at a fundraiser for the Colorado Democratic PartyHere is part of it that I transcribed:
"Incredible disconnect in the Republican Party...between talking about values and actually practicing them.
He mentions our 12 years in the wilderness as a party. Says it was painful. Then he says since we knew the Republicans had been winning, our first reaction had been to be like them.
Our 2nd reaction was to withdraq from all the places we couldn't win. He said we figured if we could win 50% of the electoral votes plus one, we could win. Trouble is if we were off by two you don't do so well.
Third reaction was to listen to pollsters and advisors telling us to run away from things we believed in. That was wrong because the people are with us.
Lots more."
I will see if I can find Part 2 and add it in the comments.
