15. BTW, there is some good news on the TYT On MSNBC front...
I can't give you specifics, but let's just say that TYT is officially on MSNBC's radar. Also, the TYT On MSNBC Facebook Group has passed the 4,000 member mark which is awesome considering MSNBC was impressed with Rachel's MSNBC page when she reached 1,000!

. Even better, if you want to see TYT on MSNBC, join the and then send an email to [email protected] and let them know you want Cenk for the 10pm slot.

17. That's great news. I wrote them an eloquent email
using my real name and credentials, which I'm sure impressed them not one bit! But every little part counts, right? I'm rooting for them.

3. That's John Boehner, not John Cornyn. Cornyn is MY senator, and he didn't vote on the bill at all!
He was the ONLY senator, I think , not to vote on it. Why did he not vote on it? Reports are that he was meeting with his campaign contributors from WALL STREET at the very time of the voting!!!!

It's a great clip regardless.

5. Cornyn's in the second half of the clip
Boehner's remarks were just as illogical - but not as hilarious.

14. We can easily solve this with tax cuts - and the invasion of a random country. Then hand out
massive contracts without oversight. Let the market police itself and give special treatment to large corporations. It's a proven winner!

K&R

Oh yeah, and character assassinations - indispensable.

18. CLEARLY, Boner is a bonehead,
or Dickhead, as you prefer, and Cornyn is so convoluted, he couldn't even understand what he's saying himself, he's just going by the "sound" of what he's saying. To me, these idiots reflect on their constituency; they really need to get over their bliss of ignorance.

34. They need to get over the bliss of a world sans taxes!
They think....or more accurately want you....the little guy....to think you can live in this country in the life style to which you are accustomed without paying taxes. This is a fairy tale that any adult should reject. It simply will never happen, has never happened, is impossible. The GOP itself has spent the last 8 years proving it!

21. Hey Professor, fellow Delawarean here
I have a feeling that Cornyn was implying that he was against tax refunds for the middle class, and that, therefore, his tax cuts would have been targeted at corporations and whatnot. He just didn't want to mention that last part.

29. Hey there
nice to see another first stater here. But even that explanation is somewhat disingenuous, as Bush's refunds and "rebates" were all ultimately targeted to the rich and corporations, even if people did get a few crumbs.

We've not actually tried a middle-class tax cut in quite some time, and even that is no where near as stimulative as a payroll tax cut.

31. Exactly
The repubs can't spell out their position -- tax cuts for the rich -- without paying a political price, so they couch it in evasive terms. They say rebates didn't work, but fail to mention that their tax plans were skewed toward benefits for the wealthy, middle class be damned.

How can that fool say with a straight face that he can guarantee that not one of them read the damned bill, yet can tell you how bad it is and give you a million reasons why they didn't vote for it.

Jeeze...

26. If these fuckers had a better idea
why... WHY didn't they put it out there BEFORE the change of guard. WHY didn't they put it in front of President Bush? Why didn't they push it as an alternative to the trillion dollar TARP welfare entitlement fund for big banks, insurance companies, and wall street brokers?

Liars.

30. Repubs need to STOP comparing TARGETED, MIDDLE CLASS tax cuts to Bush's untargeted $300 giveaway.
There's difference between putting money in the pockets of people who have low reserves (and will therefore spend immediately) and stuffing it into the hands of everyone indiscriminately (including the financially secure who will never notice the extra couple of hundred bucks and will simply deposit it with the rest of their savings).

33. What happened to all those jobs
that were supposed to be the result of Bush tax policies? Where'd all that increased revenue end up that came from Bush tax cuts? And Boner gets up there and says with a straight face that he didn't read the bill, but knows his version creates twice as many jobs at half the cost.
I may have been born at night; it just wasn't last night.
