3. dude in the striped shirt needs to understand the law before spouting off
she can stand on the sidewalk in front of their den and tape all day long and there isn't a damb thing he can do about it. She can ask all the questions she wants to ask--if the respondents don't want to answer, then that's up to them. But he can't order her anywhere or to do anything. What an ogre--I guess that's how losers act.

6. Looks like the sidewalk is in a shopping center parking lot
So I could be wrong, but aren't most shopping parking lots and the sidewalks in them "private" and not "public"?

8. Legal Rights of Photographers
Edited on Sat Oct-25-08 11:30 AM by SemperEadem
Andrew Kantor • www.kantor.com
The bottom line
Except in special circumstances (e.g., certain government facilities), there are no laws prohibiting the taking of
photographs on public or private property. If you can be there, you can take pictures there: streets, malls,
parking lots, office buildings. You do not need permission to do so, even on private property.

Trespassing laws naturally apply. If a property owner demands you leave, you must. But if a place is open to the
public — a mall, office-building lobby, etc. — permission to enter is assumed (although it can be revoked). In terms of the law, trespass and photography are separate events; the former is illegal, but the latter is not.

5. A paid McCain "volunteer" was just at my door
A moment ago, a very nice African-American woman knocked on my apartment door (20 miles from Toledo) and said she was with the McCain campaign. She asked me if I needed an absentee ballot. I told her, no, I had already voted.

I had just been watching this video, so I asked if she was paid by the McCain campaign to do this. She said, yes, and that she was from Toledo. I thanked her and she left.

It's a cold, blustery day in northwest Ohio today. Times are hard and she's doing what's neccessary to make a little money.

9. that's the question to ask them when they show up at your door: are you being paid?
Edited on Sat Oct-25-08 11:33 AM by SemperEadem
they're really not expecting it.

It's ironic that the only people who they can get to volunteer to go door to door are those for which they have to hire temp agenices to hire people for pay to volunteer to go door to door. A volunteer does it for free--that's the definition of the word "volunteer"--so is this yet another case of fraud for the mclame camp?

10. Isn't there kind of a disconnect between "volunteers" and "being paid"?
Just another example of lying sack of shit rePigliCons and their filthy control-freak ways.

13. Calmly but assertively asking passersby for assistance
At one point I heard her (no video--the hand was over the camera lens) calmly calling to passersby to come near to bear witness. I remember being taught to do that in a self-defense class once. It's a good thing to remember when you're threatened by a thug in a public place.
