3. Yes, it works in many ways.

The idea of "ending gridlock" will appeal to some people in the middle as well as people on the left.

The fact that Bill Clinton was so much better than George W. Bush.

Also, there is an attack ad from the NRSC on TV against Al Franken accusing him of "pornographic writing." It quotes Democratic women including Representative Betty McCollum (D-MN) criticizing Al Franken. But Hillary Clinton is a more famous feminist than anyone quoted in that ad.

She also talks about how much we can accomplish by setting aside bipartisanship and putting those who will represent "us"- the middle class = in congress.
