Seems to me this is more awkward than the original - now with the 'turn', 'turn', 'turn again' swimsuit poses. I just don't get the impression this lady is destined to be our v.p. - now or EVER.

And I confess I DID look at these ladies with an eye for what pleased me. Can't help it - that's the way I'm made. The urge has it's roots in the primal "survival of the fittest" response. We aren't that far removed from our days of hunting and gathering and as much as we TRY to legislate lust and set boundaries for our instinctual behaviors, we're just a historical blink in time away from the aforementioned era.

Can I equate "beauty contests" to looking at the steaks in the butcher's cabinet? Sure. But it's tough to deny the DNA that got us here.

47. I never really thought all that much about beauty contests

other than they were kind of lame, but when I saw footage of Sarah's contest, there was something really offensive about it, like a slave market. When I was young, no one thought anything of the whole display. It was just accepted as normal.

I have no problem with looking at women or men with appreciation for their appearance. It is the format that I find unnerving I guess.
