1. Every 4 years we sound like cry babies when the GOP attacks.
Edited on Sun Oct-05-08 06:21 PM by breadandwine
Obama is literally PLEADING with the voters on his hands and knees not to listen to those nasty nasty GOP attacks, appealing to our better nature, better angels etc., blah blah, instead of hitting back. This is what Democrats do every four years. When the GOP attacks, instead of hitting back, we run to the teacher to complain that Johnny hit me. Once again Obama looks like a cry baby. Obama can't talk about Keating 5, McCain's insane, berserker rage, McCain's health, the soon-to-be-president (if they win) President Palin (because McCain is about to croak), etc. etc. etc. and all because if Obama talked about any of this somebody might think he's too "angry." So he's going to blow his lead in the polls in order to be a nice guy.

2. I just have to say this.

While we all have differing opinions on how the campaign should react to certain things,I believe that the Obama campaign is one of the best campaigns to ever have the national spotlight. I,for one, have never managed a campaign so I really can't pick apart what they are doing. So far, the Obama campaign is doing really good in the polls and has the great ground troops out everywhere. Some would say "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I believe that if there is a shift towards the other side, then the game plan will change. A lot of independents and fence sitters do not like negative campaigning at all. We need these people's votes. While I respect the fact that we all have the right to have differing views on this, I just disagree.

3. You're saying wait till we're losing in the polls to start fighting????
The main reason Obama is up in the polls right now is that we just had a Wall Street crisis. That crisis just got a bailout and will be off the headlines by election day. This political stroke of good fortune is a fading tranquilizing drug to those who want to assure themselves that we don't need to go too negative.

Obama is outspending McGramps 2 to 1. Over half his money is going to positive ads and the amount is going to negative attack ads.

Just because you don't see the ads doesn't mean he isn't running them in the swing states.

Economy isn't the only reason he is up in the polls. It's the ground game he has running right now, thats the major reason. It also has some to do with Palin's horrible performance and McGramps erratic behavior. His debate performance blew away McGramps which is also helping.

If anyone is worried.. check this.. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1008/14302.html

6. "Pleading...on his hands and knees" ??
It sure didn't sound that way to me.

Barack was saying loud and clear that no matter how hard the reTHUGs try to muddy the waters and stir up shit, he is going to keep forcing them back to the issues because he knows that's where our real concerns and needs are.

That is not "pleading." That's keeping his priorities straight, his eye on the ball, and a steady aim on the target.

4. not worried
Everything they have tried has hurt them and helped Obama....He is great at rope a dope...he will give them just enough rope.

It is like watching Antonio Banderas in the movie Desperado...... He dance across the bar as he shoots everyone in the bar..ya he is killing people...but dam he is graceful...I have to say I have really enjoyed watching the Obama camp dance across the bar killing each and every republican attack they have tossed his way.

5. You may be forgetting something, Epiphany.
Obama got a big assist from the Wall Street crisis, which has now been bailed out and will gradually fade from the headlines by election day. That crisis was like platform shoes for the Obama campaign. Without that in the headlines, GOP attacks will work far better. The Republican 527 attacks are now coming on too. But Obama seems obsessed with going to his positive thinking seminar. This is the same mistake Democrats make every 4 years.
