...and we should assume that if McCain takes the WH, Palin WILL become president. Those people are nuts enough to make it happen NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES.

28. Exactly what you said. Even if she never spoke in tongues before, she got a diploma from them.
Edited on Mon Sep-08-08 02:19 PM by DangerousRhythm
Publicly. It's in my video, along with the trailer from the Master's Commission to explain WHAT she was getting a diploma for:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8twqZpUT2NQ

She actually NODDED along with the preacher when he was saying God's plan for Alaska is for it to be a "refuge state" for the lower 48. This means ARMAGEDDON... nothing less. They're not talking about having a lovely skiing vacation, people. Scary, scary stuff. What's to say she wouldn't be trying hard to bring her Armageddon closer to reality? Part of that church's platform is that Jesus' return is imminent. In her mind, she would be in a perfect position to help that along... and you saw the missiles in the video for that church's Master's Commission. It speaks for itself.

P.S. - Error: you can only recommend threads which were started in the past 24 hours

2. Mass Hypnotic Trance.
It is amazing what a group of people concentrating together can do to themselves. It is scary the intolerance that these people can behave as when they know the truth. Nothing outside that Truth is acceptable. What is the importance of Pragmatism and Skepticism? To keep your mind Free!

3. That video had text about people believing they can become little-gods...
...and Sarah Palin wrote an email to her friends and relatives in April as she imagined God would write an email.

I don't know if there is cause-and-effect, but I wonder.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
http://www.adn.com/626/story/382864.html

In a letter she e-mailed to relatives and close friends Friday after giving birth, Palin wrote, "Many people will express sympathy, but you don't want or need that, because Trig will be a joy. You will have to trust me on this." She wrote it in the voice of and signed it as "Trig's Creator, Your Heavenly Father."

5. People like that who believe totally have no choice but to vote for McCain.
They are so eaten up by delusions and spend so much time "worshipping" they never get a chance to hear any other points of view. They feed one anothers' hysteria with their halucinations and stories of miraculous events. They are so captivated by these illusions that all independent thought is nearly impossible.

I honestly think people like those depicted here are suffering from a mental illness forced on them by outside influences. Their own ignorance and their desire to feel important combine to make it possible. Stockholm Syndrome is a real disorder and I think the behavior of the people in this video is the result of a similar psychological phenomenon.

7. Ya know, the more I read about this, the more I think that the Palin
pick could backfire if the other fundies find out about her church. It seems to me as if other churches are not too thrilled with these morningstar/third wave types. Of course, I'm probably dead wrong, but this link is interesting: http://www.deceptioninthechurch.com/quotes.html

11. Wow!
Until now I have considered 'Jesus Camp' to be the most frightening horror movie ever made but this clip has made me reconsider. These people are truly sick and I am afraid there is no cure. While I am of the opinion that all religions are delusional and based on fairy tales, I am for the most part quite impartial to religious people. I am not impartial to this brand of fanaticism, however, because it is not only a danger to our constitutional form of government but a great danger to humankind as well. Imagine someone like Palin attempting to 'force the end' with a thermonuclear weapon. This is not an exaggeration but rather a distinct possibility, indeed a probability. These people give new and intense meaning to Hilary's words, "no way, no how, No McCain!".

Did anyone else find it ironic that the ministry is named Morning Star? 666 Ministries, anyone?

25. I have met people like that
Years ago, out in a way rural area in Northern MN. Up the road from my farm was a "compound" of "Christians". Made up of primarily young people who had severed ties with parents, were lost basically or non-recovered psychologically drug addicts .I was invited to a birthday party there by a local neighbor. Out of curiosity I attended. It started out as kind of a Birthday Party for someone (?) but then went into "Speaking in Tongues", convulsing, etc..... I sincerely believe that the intention from the leaders was to put pressure on the attendees to join in. It was a Cult. I left quietly out the door as it creeped me out especially talking to the young people who seemed totally empty. No emotion really and totally unstable. What I call an empty vessel. Like Palin. Ready to be filled up with Moose Kaka from Cheney and crew.
Oddly now that I think of it....across the dirt road was another group "Jews For Christ". They did not mingle.
In observing this video I also wonder if the Meth flushed in the water system is in their brains making them paranoid. Their skin pallor as well as thinness, agitation would suggest this to me. I think someone should go up there and test the water asap. I AM NOT JOKING. Yes...there is NO doubt in my mind that Palin wants it to end. All the phrasing "There is nothing in this world for me". WELL.....hey...HEADS UP! IT IS MURDER YOU FREAKIN REPUBS! GOT NEWS FOR YOU...DON'T WANNA GO WITH YA!

12. It's fine for her to practice her religion, but not from the White House
Edited on Sun Sep-07-08 06:02 AM by Waiting For Everyman
Pentecostals are anti-rational. They say the mind is satanic, and can't be trusted. They say that anyone who doesn't share their beliefs can't be trusted. They isolate people from family or friends who aren't like-minded. They only feel "safe" when they're following orders and opinions from somebody in "authority" over them. Sounds like a cult, huh?

That's why this whole "personality" or "life-style" thing is so important to them. They don't judge ideas on their own, but rather judge by WHO is saying it. That's why they're stuck.

edit to add:
Btw, it isn't what's in the Bible that is the problem - it's what their leaders tell them it says. My first husband was shanghaied by the Assembly of God, and I ultimately took Ancient Greek Language at a University (2 years) to untangle it. He wouldn't believe me though, and the church broke us up - making sure that he got all the assets. They stood in my driveway and told me to my face that they were going to get custody of my children to blackmail me and make sure I couldn't reveal anything I learned inside their "leadership group" (I had kept my thoughts to myself for 3 years, so they thought I agreed with them, but I knew something was way-wrong with them, just didn't know what it was - their teachings seem to be right in English, but it's way off in Greek; this was years ago, and they were't nearly this emotional then.) I told them they very well might win, but they'd never forget the fight they'd get from me first.

Anyway, after 5 years in court I got sole custody of my kids - and nobody, but nobody else that I heard of won in court against them. They did this same thing a lot.

I was told absolutely not to bring up the church by my lawyers - they insisted that I'd lose for sure if I did. Three different teams of lawyers said the same thing. At the last minute, when it was too late for them to stop me, I submitted 20-page interrogatories which I made all about that, and that's what caused the judge to rule in my favor. He was appalled.

That's the Assembly of God. I suspect something like that is somewhere in the Mike Wooton divorce - why she has been persecuting him since 2005 when his divorce began. He probably knows something specifically wacko about her. The feud kicked off when he said he would "bring Sarah down", and I think he probably could.

16. It is very clear...
.... to ANYONE from any race or religion, and who wants more than to just beat Dems, that Palin is unfit to even be.... Governor of Alaska!

Can we pair her and Hagee?....McCain loves Hagee. Rev Wright seems the sanest of them all! (and that's saying something)

This election seems to be about race, and religion. Scary, because I don't care about either. What about the economy???

18. I've seen this brainwashing of teens happen at a Catholic retreat
Led by a "charismatic Catholic" priest and nun in the late 70s for my church's high school CCD class (indoctrination for Catholic kids attending public school)

3 full days of staying up late, getting up early, "trust" exercises, day long lectures (all very reminiscent of brain-washing), culminating is a sort of revival, where everyone "found Jesus" except me

My parents didn't believe it, but then within the year, every single one of those 17 year olds left the Catholic Church and joined a fundamentalist Christian Church

Needless to say, I haven't heard of this type of retreat being offered again.

I was exposed to est and "The Forum" later, and recognized the identical brain-washing techniques in there too. Notice the kids on the Lakeland retreat said this happened when they were up at 1:30 am - not surprising

19. Just a little creepy
Mark my words Palin gets to be vice president we are all going suffer. She will try to get prayer and creation into schools, were it is not to be. She will have a church trying take over our freedoms in this country. Look people this is why the Republicans like her. She is a demon. So now we have to work soo very hard to make sure this women does not have power of any kind. As matter of fact she shouldn't even be Governor of a state. Are freedoms are gone puff if these two get in to power. and no what i'll move to Canada for four years.

She is just a puppet for the Republicans and i don't understand why women are so taken with her it's crazy. I am not taking by her. i can see right through that witch. It's perfect. she has a disabled baby they use for there election. You now women can be sometimes emotional. Aw poor Sarah and that poor baby, what struggles she must go through. well lady I have four year old daughter who has 88 degree curve of the spine, and my friend as an austic baby. You know everyone in this world as cross they must bear. I bet she does not even pay attention to that baby either. Like she did her 17 year old daughter. KH

Good read with above video.
The don't think the 'regular' christian conservatives would even go for this...
I don't know, don't know much about them...I stay away from that stuff, they just freak me out.

Thanks for recs and links in this thread, also. I checked them out and mainstream America needs to know her value system and beliefs. Obama went to through much with a pastor I happen to agree with on a lot of social issues....And he's not 'healing' people.

and other things that they think are spiritual gifts from the Holy Spirit. Cynics like me think it's just people overcome by emotion. It's a Pentecostal thing.

Ever heard the term "holy rollers"? It refers specifically to Pentecostals...

That's some really scary shit right there... I wish the MSM would put some of this Palin youtube up.... the voodoo sounding chants and "there's nothing for me in this word" song, especially.

All this would be a LOT of fun if not for her nearly begin a heartbeat away from the presidency of the USA.
