...in downtown St. Paul.

As the crowd moves away from the tear gas which has been released, the police keep shooting more and more tear gas at them.

Tear gas should be banned.

1. Good job, Marta.
She shows how terrifying it is to be in a situation like that - how helpless and powerless we are.

4. It's disgraceful
they just can't wait to use all those deadly toys they've spent so much money on, against peaceful demonstrators. Halliburton gets to build the detention centers for their own fellow citizens.

Democracy, what a joke it all is.

5. terrorism pure and simple...
Why are we so unwilling to admit that our corporate masters want their slaves (us) to behave? It's so obvious.Democracy is a sham. Work for your corporate masters and shut up or they will terrorize you and lock you up. What part of that reality are we having trouble understanding? The Fascists have taken over so get in line. The showers are next. Think not? Just keep waiting.

7. Holy crap, I am pretty sure that is the march I went to tonight
I did see the police spray tear gas once, but I did not see the scene portrayed in that video so I assume that it happened sometime after I left. That was a very intense protest, but the protesters were not violent. Obviously the police were more violent unfortunately.

That was a very powerful video, and thinking that I was almost stuck in that as well makes it even more powerful. I wish the corporate media would actually show this stuff, instead we get endless smears on the protesters.

10. The cops did the same kind of shit in NYC in '04
A good friend got picked up and sat in a filthy warehouse.

The nasty thing they did was demand that people leave and then push them into an area cordoned off with orange snow fence so they couldn't leave - so they arrested them. The cops were the ones to put up the snow fence, so it wasn't a mistake.
