2. How is This Race Even Close!
My god! What kind of morons do we share this nation with that McCain is neck and neck with Obama? WTF! Like there's any comparison... IN SPITE OF PARTY DIFFERENCES!

14. Polls don't factor in turnout
Look at the voter registration differences. This race isn't as close as people think it is. As long as all these people follow up and go out and vote, Obama will win. Those people from those Dem primaries were inspired. They were warriors. They went out in masses and voted for Barack, Hillary, Edwards, Richardson, DK, Chris Dodd, Biden and on and on and on. You put that all together, and we have something. They need to look at this guy and say: "He has my vote, I will walk through hell to vote for Barack Obama." If they turn out, it's over. Close to landslide numbers.

4. I Continue to Believe

. . . that Matthews had some kind of epiphany while he was ill. Perhaps he thought of Tim Russert, may he rest in peace. Perhaps he didn't want to be remembered as someone who was complicit in the right-wing bias of the MSM. It's only a theory, but his turnaround - - more of a return to his roots, incidentally, as a working-class Democrat from Pennsylvania and an aide to Tip O'Neill - - has been remarkable and unmistakable.

9. "the right-wing bias of the MSM" paid for his house in Martha's Vineyard...
...and I've seen Matthews change positions too many times. Consistency is everything. If his current state of mind doesn't unravel 5 minutes after Grapmy's speech at the RNC, we might be witnessing some lasting change. Until then, he's still Chris Matthews.

:patriot:

10. Agreed on Consistency

We'll see if he keeps it up, not just at the Goopers' little convention, but on the trail. However, when he tells his critics to go to hell, and GUSHES with praise for Obama, you have to wonder.

12. I kinda like Chris Matthews.
I never understood why people rip on him so much. When he's on Hardball, mostly he just wants a lively discussion, even if it means picking on Dems, just to get people excited. He's a typical devil's advocate, and he is an engaging host.

13. Crazy. Matthews is downright coherent and even insightful here.
Obama's brilliance must have triggered some kind of endorphin rush in him.

15. Tweety was great.
As an aside, I am not trained to read lips so I might be wrong, but I though that, after the speech, on the stage, Obama asked Michelle if she was tired, and she nodded yes. I also think that Obama said he was happy. If someone reads lips better than I, please correct me.
