1. Recreate 68????
How fucking stupid is that? Recreate a massive police riot?? These people are so idiotic I can barely stand it. They will still be treated better than the people of the RNC in new york.

"Ohhhh, Im covering my face because I dont want to be profiled"..... moran.

8. R68 is a Hate Group
Here is a blog run by the folks who are 'leaders' of Recreate '68: http://tryworks.org/blog/

Recreate '68 is really a hate group led by very extreme, reactionary militants.

The 'spokespersons' for R68 in the news video are notorious Denver publicity addicts ... they'll break a three minute mile to get in front of a television camera or a news photographer.

There is a civil, peaceful protest organization in Denver "The Alliance for Real Democracy" -- they are protesting the war, not the Democratic convention. If you are in Denver and want to demonstrate, they are the group to check out. (http://realdemocracy2008.org/)

So, much of what they said about this holding area is exaggeration and actually very few people here think that this facility will need to be used.

9. "If you are in Denver and want to demonstrate" GO TO ST. PAUL, FCS
And don't give the a**hats on the M$M the footage they need to distort the Democratic Convention.

10. Chill.
RFK, Jr. walked with us on the 16th Street mall this afternoon.

Guess what ... he wants the troops home now, too.

12. And I worked for his Dad!
RFK Jr. is not Recreate '68! Big difference.

2. I'm not a big fan of jailing people for protesting political events, but
if it happened to me, I'd rather be processed and held at a facility with other protesters than processed downtown and held with people charged with felonies.

3. Did you see the barbed wire in that place?
I am not planning on going to Denver and getting arrested but if I was, I would want to be treated humanely.

A friend of mine got arrested in NY in 2004. And she wasn't there protesting but just standing on the sidewalk watching a protest. And she was held for 48 hours. So we really shouldn't assume that only those who are actually protesting will be detained.

tradition of protests. All groups. I do hope all will be safe in Denver.

The Dept of Homeland security is involved. That is scary.

6. Yep.
An overnight stay in a makeshift holding facility might be uncomfortable, but having a Homeland Security file can last a lifetime. I find compiling files on peaceful protesters reprehensible.

Welcome to DU! :hi:

5. I think the bad PR forced them to remove the barbed wire.
And I think it's absolute BS to hold non-violent protesters, anyway. Write 'em a ticket, take their cash and let 'em go back to protesting.
