Bush, Condi, and various other flunkies of the administration said they had no idea planes would be used as weapons. Even if they didn't notice the various military exercises on the scenario, you'd think a couch potato like Bush might have seen this pilot for THE LONE GUNMAN six months before 9/11 on Fox.

Not because I was intending to, but because I sucked at fiddling with the controls on the keyboard and didn't have the peripherals that the serious types had. IIRC, it even made a goofy crash noise with a bit of cartoon flame, and then switched to a screen that told you what an asshat you were.

ended with the hero flying a plane into a skyscraper . . . if we are looking for even earlier artistitic precedents. That was published in 1982 or thereabouts.
