totally agree with him -- well almost totally. I think what people love isn't "America" but is the ideal behind what American supposedly onceuponatime was going to make manifest -- rightness, goodness, fairness, freedom for all. Like K.Arthur's Roundtable, "might for right" -- but it has gotten so twisted by corruption, greed, and plain old ignorance.

Peace begins inside each one of us. There is no other way.

14. I was just over in Europe and people do want Obama to win

so they can believe in America again. They also want him to win because they hate the current administration and see them as being very incompetent. When our economy falters than so does Europe's so they just want us to get our act together!
A note about Bush's popularity, we met a guy from the states who was studying some aspect of law in Rome and they actually sent police support up to guard where they were staying when Bush was there because the last time Bush visited hate crimes were committed against Americans. We arrived two days after Bush visited so we are glad we heard this story while leaving Rome!
