8. Eager to recite every defense of McCain he can remember.
He is truly a tool.

18. I have a hard time taking serious anything David Gregory does.
After his appearance dancing with Rove I concluded he's incapable of projecting an objective posture. Add to that his propensity for Prada boots and one can't help but view him as somewhat the prima donna.

10. Man, Gregory is totally unbelievable how bias he is. What does he get out of a
McCain election? Obviously something the way he is so biased against Obama. You could tell how he didn't like what Chuck Todd is saying, he can't even conceal that. His show is totally awful, of course he doesn't help it any where you can watch him try to go after Barack every chance he gets. He is passing up Scarborough fast.

11. A couple of points ...
Edited on Sun Jul-20-08 03:35 PM by Cosmocat
1) He asked a couple of REAL questions in press conferences that got some play, and in a time when 95% of the media was rolling over to Bushco, people WANTED to believe that Gregory was independent minded ... But, he is WELL in the Washington insider circle, he was on stage with Rove during the press corps dinner ...

2) He is breakin in getting his own show ... I have noticed that a lot of people who get to where he is, breaking in from the reporting ranks to hosting - they might have shown some independence during their reporting, but to break the ceiling to get into hosting, they take a right turn ... THAT is the sell out they have to do to get handed the keys ...

3) Conversely, Todd is one of the good guys ... He has moved FAST, from a part time bit with Hotline on C-SPAN to a position of some status with MSNBC ... He got there because he found a niche, has a likeable personality and his passion for what he does shows, and he is good at it ... Now, you can tell he likes it more when the news is good for dems, but you know he will call it the way he sees it either way ...

14. Yeah, very good analysis. Gregory has never been the same since he danced
with Rove at that Press Corps dinner.

20. David Gregory is being pressured by his masters to make ratings.
A blowout election doesn't get ratings. He knows Obama is ahead and so he has to make McCain seem viable. The M$M needs another squeaker in November in order to boost ratings on election night and every day leading up to election day.

17. Brokaw is really the biggest republican tool on that stage.
He is so anti-Obama that he makes Gregory look like an Obama supporter.

6. Why don't they just have Paris Hilton on there talking about this stuff?
Edited on Sun Jul-20-08 02:01 PM by ryanmuegge
It'd be basically the same level of intellectual rigor. What's funny is that, a couple months back, some people on here were rushing to Gregory's defense when I said he's a biased hack and a faux journalist. It's nearly criminal that people in the MSM haven't asked PAINFULLY OBVIOUS questions about the "surge." There has NEVER been a critical view of the "surge's" outcomes and consequences presented in the MSM. That's downright ridiculous. The cable news networks are on 24 hours a day. They have all the time in the world to look in depth at this. No. Instead, it's just, "the surge is working," and that's the end of the story.

Enough of this "analysis" by hack journalists who just state the obvious. Only true professionals with doctoral degrees in the field of international studies should be allowed to analyze this stuff.

among slanted pundits.

Let's give Todd, Olbermann, and Maddow their own network!

13. It's All About Creating A Horserace
Which means more advertising revenue for MSM. The only way MSM can create a horserace is by taking sides in this race and in this case it means a full-throated endorsement of John McCain. Without this there is no horserace and decreased advertising revenue. Thugs like Gregory are just out there selling their product. So far it is working to perfection. The latest national polls show a dead-heat but the polling on a State by State basis shows Obama pulling away, according to Rasmussen at least. Down ticket the Republicans are faring far worse than at the top of the ticket. Only one thing can explain that, which is the strong media bias in favor of John McCain.
