WARNING - LANGUAGE

For over seven years a backward, imbecile and his puppet masters have ruled our nation, desecrated our Constitution, plunged our nation into debt, committed war crimes and crimes against humanity and the best the Democrats can come up with is "hope" and "change".

Frank attempts to intervene in the cycle of self abuse that has become the Democrat party's addiction. An addiction that leaves millions of Americans without a voice and without protection from Big Business, Gluttons, Polluters, War Mongers and violence addicted sociopaths commonly known as Republicans.

Millions of Americans have sent the message that our Congress is even worse than our imbecile President and so Americans remain at their mercy. We should stop making excuses and admit we have a problem.

I reject the idea that we're screwing ourselves if we criticize the Dems. If we keep quiet and pretend everything is ok in spite of evidence to the contrary, we are no better than the 25% or so that continue to insist that Bush is a good president.

Look, I am not by any means suggesting that anyone vote Republican or that Democrats are worse on an issue by issue basis. In fact I think both suggestions are absurd.

But I AM saying that we need to hold our representatives accountable, and that while we work to elect a Dem president and to create huge Dem majorities in the House and Senate, we need to be ready to primary the anti-progressive Dems to death:

It pisses me off that the Republic meme "Democrat Party" has taken hold so completely that some non-rightwingers are using the term. Its constant repetition by members of the Republic Party and their media concubines has finally made it acceptable. It's the Democratic Party's own fault. They never called the media on it. They just sat there and let right-leaning pundits and politicians repeat "Democrat Party" over and over instead of correcting anyone and everyone who said it. Now there are people of the liberal persuasion who don't even know it was originally the right-wing, dog-whistling code talk that helped them identify each other in public. A not-so-secret handshake, if you will.

And the Democrats just ignored it. They didn't create code words of their own or even develop a cohesive message. Frank's right: it's the Harlem Globetrotters vs. Washington Generals. The Republic Party knows that the smart move is to hang together rather than separately. The Democrats haven't learned about strength in unity because half of their f#*king party members are really Republics in disguise.

I am always amazed how so many "progressives" either don't get it, or don't want to get it. Until we clean the muck out of Washington, (and I don't just mean the thieving excretions from the other side of the aisle), then we cannot expect to go forward as a nation. We cannot expect the next administration to be an agent of change. We cannot expect subsequent administrations to "do the right thing." We cannot place any faith in our leadership to represent our interests.

There are a lot of democrats with stars in their eyes, yet their heads are buried firmly in the sand.

Interacting here on DU it is obvious to me that we are largely marginalized by the mainstream Corporate Democrat establishment. The DNC is the Fox News of the Democratic party. We are NOT in good hands. This administration could possibly come to a close with out any recompense for the criminal activities they have boldly engaged in and that is because WE LET THEM, by relinquishing our power to our party overlords. This stands as a testament to the Democratic Party's cowardice and co-opting. It promotes the meme that we are weak. We're supposed to defend the country from terrorism when we cant even defend our own government from domestic criminals!

We are punk'd on a regular basis. I have tried and tried to give the Corporate Dem establishment the benefit of the doubt but I've had it! Democrat Party, Democratic Party, Liberal, Lib all of these terms have been turned into slurs and I'm not going to buy it. There are good reasons why they are slurs- because we empower this kind of childish bullying.

Our party needs a new face and new message and a new reputation. First on the list of attributes is DETERMINATION and COMMITMENT. We need to butch up and step up!
