2. agree. Ugly situation all around.
One overrated, blowhard "journalist" with the intellectual integrity of a can of Spam; one annoying, weaselly pro-Christian fool; and one ego-maniacal, ponderous, bloated puffer-fish sneering at the other two. Sorry I watched it.

3. Am I MIssing Something?

I just sat and listened to Andrew Sullivan - a Right Winger if ever there was one - defending Barack Obama's candor and clarity on the issue of faith. I also listened to Christopher Hitchens take issue with Reverend Wright in the context of his book on the dangers of mixing faith and politics. While Hitchens attacked Wright - and by association, Barack Obama - his main grievance is that Obama did not choose a more "secular" church. Nothing in what I heard qualifies any of the three in the way they have been characterized. As an Obama supporter, it is refreshing to hear intelligent discourse on the influence of faith in politics.

4. Well...
I love Hitchens on religion. I think he's full of shit on politics however. As far as Sullivan goes, I've gained a lot of respect for him over the last year, and I can agree with some of his conservative stances that seem to be common sense.
